waiting for EAD and ADVANCE PAROLE
Hello! Lawfully community friends,
my cases have been filed on NOV,26 2024. Due to an emergency situation i had to travel outside the USA for my Sibling’s Funeral😭 I hardly went through an do or die situation. i cannot miss my only Brother’s funeral hope you all understand. so i left the country without completing my Biometrics, though i got my appointment on friday i left on wednesday.
without the biometrics being completed, will i still be able to get approval for my i131 and i765 and get my EAD and advance parole travel documents? so that i can re-enter the country.
please advise if any one of you had already been in this situation. Thanks.
17 months and still nothing,
anyone can help with anything beside the congressman! if you have been through this situation and you did something that was helpful please post it here thanks 🙏

Interview Approved – I-130 & I-485 (Marriage-based AOS)
Location: USCIS Washington Field Office
Interview Date: May 22, 2025
Hi everyone,
Just wanted to share an update — we had our marriage-based green card interview at the USCIS Washington Field Office, and both I-130 and I-485 were approved (I-130 on May 22, I-485 on May 23).
The officer was courteous and professional. She asked us some basic relationship questions, and it was clear she just wanted to verify that the marriage was real.
Here are some of the questions we were asked:
– When did you meet?
– When did your relationship become serious?
– Why did you get married shortly after meeting?
– What did you do together last weekend?
– Have you met each other’s parents?
– How many people attended your wedding?
– Do you live together now?
– Do you have a joint lease or shared bills?
– How many rooms are in your home, and who else lives there?
They also asked questions like:
– Do you have a joint bank account or health insurance?
– Have you traveled anywhere together?
– Have you ever had any legal issues, overstayed a visa, or applied for immigration before?
My timeline:
• I-130 Filed: September 14, 2024
• I-485 Filed: October 11, 2024
• Interview Date: May 22, 2025
• Approval Dates:
– I-130: May 22, 2025
– I-485: May 23, 2025
Tips for others:
– Be confident and honest.
– Organize your paperwork (IDs, marriage cert, photos, joint documents).
– Rehearse realistic questions with your spouse — not like a script, just naturally.
– Bring proof of joint life (leases, bank accounts, insurances, trips, etc.)
It’s a long journey, but Alhamdulillah it worked out. Wishing you all the best and approvals soon!
* Happy to answer any questions — good luck to everyone!
#Update : I just got my green card today 13 days just after interview 🙂🙂
green card interview
applied on October 2nd and am still waiting for approval. I haven’t received an interview call yet. In green card cases where the petitioner is a U.S. citizen spouse, is the USCIS interview mandatory, or is there a chance I could receive direct approval for the conditional green card without an interview?
I have applied for AOS on October 21,2024 with approved I-140 PD current and my case is stuck at finger prints applied. Is this normal? Are there any EB1 approvals happening right now?
