Pending i485 after VAWA approval
Hello everyone,
My VAWA was approved November 2024, and since then there is no update on the i485 held in abeyance. I have sent a letter to my local office ( Baltimore field office) with my VAWA approval and request to continue processing my i485, I saw an update online that the letter was received.
I also reached out to my congressman man to assist with inquiring about my case and here is what USCIS sent to them ***Thank you for your inquiry on behalf of your constituent regarding pending form I-485 Permanent Residence/Adjust Status.
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) records indicate that ****** case is pending at the Baltimore Field Office. USCIS is committed to adjudicating immigration benefits in a timely and efficient manner while also ensuring public safety, national security, and compliance with all relevant directives. While the processing steps for most applications or petitions are completed quickly, a small percentage of cases involve unresolved issues that may result in adjudication delays. Please know that this Application is in queue and has not been overlooked.

Has Anyone Been Approved for VAWA Without Receiving Prima Facie Determination?
Has anyone been approved for a VAWA self-petition without ever receiving a prima facie determination from USCIS?
I know prima facie isn’t required for final approval, but most approved cases mention getting it. If you were approved without one:
1. What was your timeline? (e.g., "Applied → RFE → Approval")
2. Did your case have unusually strong evidence (police reports, medical records, etc.)?
3. How long after applying did you get approval?
Just trying to understand if this happens! Thanks for sharing your experience.

EB2 NIW Premium Processing
Hello All,
For candidate inside the US under L1/H1B status, is it recommended to apply for EB2-NIW with normal processing or premium processing? what are the pros and cons of each option?
I would really appreciate if anyone would like to share their experiences or recommendations.

EB2-NIW Petition Returned
An EB2-NIW petition was returned because the application was completed incorrectly, I-140 form part 1 Q5 501(c)(3). All the supporting documents were returned and USCIS scanned them with some inscriptions on the footage. The reject benefit request will not retain a filing date.
My question:
After making the corrections, can I resubmit all the old documents (petition letter, CV, reference letters, certificates, etc) they returned?
or do I prepare a new documents and submit?

Clarification on form i-485, pg 3, q12, I-94
On Form I-485, page 3, question 12 refers to the Form I-94 Arrival/Departure Record. Should we provide the original I-94 information that we used when entering the U.S., or should we use the new departure record number issued by USCIS after being granted asylum?
