Green card received! Full i-485 mandamus timeline
Hi community. I have recently made a detailed post about my writ of mandamus experience. Today, I got my green card in hand. 🥳 February-2023: asylum approved June 3, 2024: USCIS received my i-485 April 9, 2025: status changed to “interview is ready to be scheduled” May-September-2025: called USCIS, contacted Congresswoman, Ombudsman and submitted expedite request with no success Oct 21, 2025: filed my mandamus lawsuit with a court and served the defendants Nov 6, 2025: new card is being produced Nov 7, 2025: case approved Nov 14, 2015: card was mailed to me Nov 19, 2025: card received; notice of voluntary dismissal submitted to the court So it took less than a month from filing mandamus to green card in hand. Tomorrow, it’s my 6 year anniversary in the United States. The best gift ever. 🎁

Congratulations 🎉 Thank you for sharing 👏 Looks like mandamus is really working fast just a quick question when you were filling your mandamus did you already reached the processing time ? like how many months all together was your application pending? I heard if you file it before you pass the processing time they will reject and say it is within in the normal processing time ? I see for green card for Asylee processing time is 19 months .
