Taxes
I’m about to file my N-400 under the 3 years rule and I’m having trouble on the taxes part. I haven’t worked in 3 years, recently went back to school last year and my husband is a veteran that gets disability benefits every month and hasn’t worked in almost the same time(3years). Since VA benefits aren’t taxable income, what can be done about the taxes part of the application?

NVC PAYMENT ERROR
Our I-130 was approved in September 2025 and we got welcome letter in October. We have been trying to make payment on the portal since then but it has not been going through. We then reached out to our lawyer and he said we have to wait for another email from NVC telling us go ahead with the payments before we can do that, even though it’s currently showing “PAY NOW” on CEAC portal. I really want to know if this is normal cuz we haven’t been able to do anything on the case for 6mnths now. Also how long do we have to wait again?😞

H1B Cap-Exempt Premium Processing Delay After RFE
Applied for H1B cap-exempt premium processing in December 2025 and still no final decision. Trying to understand if this timeline is normal or if anyone has experienced something similar.
Timeline:
* Dec 9: Case received + receipt notice sent
* Dec 22: RFE issued asking for proof of maintenance of F1 status
* Context: I had previously received another H1B approval in 2025, and my SEVIS record needed correction after that H1B withdrawal. The withdrawal notice did not arrive until April 1.
* Mar 16: Responded to RFE
* Apr 28: “Premium processing clock was stopped”
* May 4: Status changed to “Case is still being processed”
I’m confused because premium processing should normally result in some action within 15 business days after the RFE response. Does “premium processing clock was stopped” usually mean a decision is coming soon, or could USCIS still take much longer?
Has anyone had a similar cap-exempt H1B + SEVIS/F1 maintenance issue timeline?
