Filed Mandamus... Government Wants Another 60 Days?
My I-485 has been pending for a little over 2 years. I finally got tired of waiting and hired a lawyer (paid a little over $3k) to file a writ of mandamus. Today is Day 58 since filing, and my attorney forwarded me an email from the government lawyer. They asked if we'd agree to give them another 60 days, saying USCIS intends to issue a decision during that time.
My attorney said it's pretty common for the government to ask for an extra 30 days, but asking for 60 days isn't something they see very often. They think USCIS might just be backed up.
I'm leaning toward agreeing since it sounds like at least they're finally working on my case.
Has anyone else gotten a 60-day extension request after filing mandamus?

Expedite Request
Hi everyone. I’m looking for some guidance from anyone who has successfully submitted an expedite request to USCIS for urgent humanitarian reasons, specifically for a pending waiver.
My case has already been pending for approximately 53 months since may 2022. Unfortunately, my family in Colombia has just been severely affected by the recent earthquake. My parents lost their home, other members of my family have also been affected, and one of my sisters is currently missing.
I am extremely worried and desperate to be with my family during this emergency. I would like to request expedited processing of my pending waiver based on urgent humanitarian circumstances.
Has anyone here gone through a similar situation involving a natural disaster or serious family emergency?
If so, could you please share how you submitted your expedite request, what evidence you provided, and whether you submitted it yourself, through an attorney, through USCIS, or with congressional assistance?
I would especially appreciate hearing from anyone who has successfully expedited a waiver or another USCIS case based on humanitarian reasons.
Thank you so much. Any guidance or personal experience would mean a lot to me right now.
ead card
Hi everyone, I’m currently waiting for my OPT EAD card, and my I-765 case is still showing as “Case Is Being Processing .” The estimated processing time has already passed, so I’m getting concerned and wanted to check with others.
Has anyone who applied for OPT in February or March received their EAD card yet? If yes, when did you receive your approval and physical card?
If you’re still waiting, how long has your case been pending, and what status is showing for you?
I’m trying to understand whether there is a general delay with February/March applications. Please share your updates or experiences. Thank you!

Status date updated from 5/8 to 8/11 ("Currently Processing"), but PD isn't current yet?
Hi everyone,
My Priority Date is June 15, 2022, which is not current yet according to the Visa Bulletin.
Previously, my status was "USCIS is Currently Processing the case" as of May 8. Today (August 11), I received an email update, and when I logged in, the status text remained identical, but the date updated to today: "USCIS is Currently Processing the case" as of August 11.
I immediately panicked thinking it might be an RFE, but there is no update about an RFE, and nothing new has been uploaded to the "Documents" tab.
Has anyone experienced a date refresh like this when their PD isn't current?
Could this be a pre-adjudication?
Was it transferred to a Field Office (FO)?
Or did an officer just open/touch my file?
Any insights or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
i-765 automatically revoked
I've received an automatically revoked i-765 after receiving it in 2025. I booked a trip to visit Jamaica next month (Sept 2026) do you recommend that I cancel it? Should I be worried about the auto revolt?

USCIS case status suddenly changed to show that USCIS received correspondence and is reviewing it
Hi everyone. My VAWA case has been pending since April 2023. Yesterday, August 10, my USCIS case status suddenly changed to show that USCIS received correspondence and is reviewing it. I haven’t submitted or sent anything recently. Has anyone experienced something similar, and did you have a positive outcome afterward?
inquiry for time processing for AOS I-485
Hello,
I got a response from USCIS today for the inquiry I submitted a month ago and they said if I don’t receive a decision in 90 days to submit another inquiry.
my case is at Columbus field office and my PD 4/28/2023 , had my interview 2 years ago.
anyone knows how long will it take them to work on my case after they responded to the inquiry? or has the same experience?
F2A, total 1100 days crossed
F2A – PD August 2023, I-130 approved January 2024, medical renewed February 2026, and I-485 interview completed in April 2026. It has now been 110 days since my interview, and I still haven’t received any decision. I sent several inquiries last year and earlier this year, but USCIS keeps saying that my case is still within the processing time because they have changed the processing times several times.
I also contacted my congressman’s office, but they said they can only submit an inquiry if the case is outside the current processing time or after 160 days from the interview. However, at my interview, the officer gave me a letter stating that I could make an inquiry after 120 days. Now, when I contact the USCIS Contact Center, they say I can only submit an inquiry once my case is outside the posted processing time. Any suggestion ?
