I have a question about applying for a green card with a J1 waiver.
Last year I got my J1 waiver approved in March but it was never delivered to my mailbox, took me a long time to find out because I never got any notification.
When I contacted uscis they told me I should request a copy with form i-824. I filed in August, in #Vermont Office. It is been 9 months (processing time 13.5 months )
If I do not get it in the next couple of months I need to leave the USA.
So I would like to know if I do not get it I could file for the green card without this document and wait for RFE. Although no lawyer said anything about it I read somewhere here that I could but it is not recommended.
Someone here to share about form #i-824 or applying with a #J1waiver?
I also got in contact with a senator but not sure if they can really help since my case is still in normal processing times.
I never thought it would take so long to get a copy. Less than 2 minutes anyone can't do it.

Hallelujah! God is great! New Card is being Produced (05/16/2023)
I just got notified on the app that a new Card is being produced (6.30 pm on 05/16/2023). Dependents' still pending but hopefully will be approved in next day or so and we will have our Green Cards in hand in a couple of weeks.
Good luck to all who are waiting, don't give up as there is hope. Thanks to this community- it has been a great source of info and hope.
Below my timeline:
My PD is 03/29/2021 (I-140 filed, standard),
I-140 approved (EB1-C multinational Manager) 04/30/2022;
I-485 Submitted 08/04/ 2022 along with EAD form and Medicals;
Biometrics completed on 09/08/2022; Case status since then is "Case Was Updated To Show Fingerprints Were Taken"..
My notice is MSC22906**** .
It was at NBC until Oct 2022 when our cases got moved to Texas center.
Cases moved back to NBC on March 1 2023.
As per Emma (live agent), in mid-late March 2023 cases were moved to LA Field Office (non-local) and interview was waived.
My 485 approved on May 16th, 2023. Dependents should follow in next few days!
