We've had a great experience with our lawyer and highly recommend having one for spot checks on forms and making sense of all the poorly worded questionairres, as well as compiling the needed documentation in a cohesive way, and for building in redundancy in case the various government agencies lose a document here or there.

extended review
my I-485 has been pending for 2 years and 2 months. I have a criminal record (nothing that makes me admissible) the congress woman reached out and USCIS told her Memphis Tn sent my case back to Boston (home office) for extended review. is this because of my criminal record? I got a RFE in June for my criminal record, even tho I sent it all originally but I’m assuming they asked again because they lost it. they received my criminal record back in july. congress says it doesn’t mean there is anything wrong, but expect it to take a while. it’s already been 2 years and 2 months :(
