Finally, it’s my turn. It hasn’t been easy full of tears and pain, but I finally made it. Here’s my timeline: PD: 06/2021 Filed I-485: 02/2022 Case transferred from Texas to NBC: 04/2022 05/2022: Submitted inquiry via USCIS website 05/2022: Received second medical RFE from non-local FO (I also submitted my first medical concurrently with I-485) 06/2022– 06/2025: Retrogression 05/2025: Submitted e-request inquiry (no response until 08/20, when I already knew my interview date) 06/2025: Contacted my area Congressman to submit inquiry 06/27/2025: Received response (generic answer) 06/17/2025: Filed mandamus lawsuit 07/19/2025: Fingerprints updated 08/05/2025: Interview waiver eligibility cancelled 08/06/2025: Case requested to transfer to FO 08/08/2025: Case moved to FO 08/15/2025: Interview scheduled 08/29/2025: Court deadline; USCIS requested first extension till 09/29 09/09/2025: Interview Questions they asked me: When did you come to the U.S.? Which schools have you attended? Show transcripts (they reviewed each semester) Who paid your tuition? Have you graduated from university? When did you start working? When was your EAD approved? Before working for your sponsor, did you ever work illegally? Describe your job, sponsor name, how you knew this sponsor, and start date They checked all my W-2s and keep all my W2s returned all 1040 tax returns They asked to keep all my 1099 from all my side jobs Verified sponsor info: name and address Have you ever left the U.S.? (They asked for Form I-131) Asked to see birth certificate Why did I sue USCIS? 😅 Why didn’t you bring a lawyer today? Do you have a medical exam? (old one expired) Then 30–40 yes/no questions Finally, they typed the information into the computer, stamped “approved,” said the card will arrive in 2 weeks, and congratulated me—starting today, I am a permanent resident. Status in the app changed to ‘New card is being produced’ as soon as I stepped outside. Don’t be afraid ,everyone will reach their destination with a bit of luck.
