I-601A transfer
My I-601A just got transferred to a new jurisdiction. I’m not sure which one yet but I’m hoping this will help my case move along faster, after not receiving any updates for over 2 years.

The RFE medical responded on December 21 and on December 26 they received my analysis and changed the status to being actively reviewed.
Does anyone know how long it takes to make a decision?

layoff - GC approved - new job
I’ve never thought I would be posting my story since I joined this community. However, I promised this might be the most luckiest story you have ever heard.
Long story short, I got laid off and then my GC got approved on the next business day and I got a new offer on the same day.
Last week:
- H1B status with pending GC (PD: May 2022) so my case has been current this month
- 1/16 (last Tuesday) layoff happened and 1/19 (last Friday) was my official last day
- I started applying for jobs and reached out to connections since 1/16 and got 2 interviews from different companies in the same week
- One of the rules is to maintain your employment while waiting for GC approval so the pressure was real, considering my case was current
- 1/18 (last Thursday) Attorney advised to get a new offer asap to close the unemployment gap and minimize being questioned about my intent when renewing visa/applying for citizenship in the future even though it was out of my control
This week:
- 1/22 (Monday) GC was being produced, so I thought I was done the moment I saw the status update. The time crunch was impossible. I got to get an offer within a day!
- 1/22 (Monday) got 2 interviews with a new company and a job offer on spot
- 1/23 (Tuesday) GC was approved
As we all know, the interview process typically takes at least one month. Layoff and GC processing time are out of our control. At the end, we are able to pull it off!!!
I learned that people and hiring managers are human. I was taking my interview seriously and able to make a good impression. And, there are good people out there, who are willing to listen to your story, your commitment and your dedication. I’m feeling very lucky to be surrounded by them.
oh thanks to my hubby. the biggest supporter of all.
