interview 10/03 at Newark FO
I got married on January 2025 after 12 years of being a couple. I sent my application and requested to have my husbands last name yet got my maiden one at EAD. We got interviewed on 10/3 and 40 minutes before start the interview the officer asked if we had more bona fide evidence which we provide more pictures, lease, bank statements. The asked me husband more questions than me and we did respond very well. Once the interviewed was finished officer made sign a new alien number and gave us the paper. Later the day, got two notifications of “we have taken action” 485 went to actively reviewing and that it, i130 still shows interview scheduled. I have a high anxiety on this yet my faith is strong. What are your toughts?

Slower processing time at Dallas FO?
I had my 1st i-485 interview in Nov 2024 and 2nd interview in June 2025. I was told by the interviewer I should receive a decision fairly soon after 2nd interview. Almost 3.5 months later I called them and got a reply in email saying due to workload factors please expect a delay of 6 more months.
Did anyone else had the same experience at Dallas office?
any suggestions?
Just landed at JFK with AP
The process was mostly the same, but for the first time I was asked additional questions—driver’s license, eye color, hair color, height, weight, marital status, and address. Normally, secondary inspection at JFK is in the same room, but this time I was called to a different room in the same area. There, they took my fingerprints, measured my height, and took my picture.
I asked the officer if this was a new procedure, and he confirmed it has recently changed and will now be done at every entry. I also asked if there’s a limit on using Advance Parole, and he said as long as it hasn’t expired, you can make multiple entries without issue.
They were polite and nothing extra happened.
