why it took this long for Asylum based green card? Is there anything wrong with your case?

@Ak . My attorney filed for both a U Visa and asylum. When I was granted asylum, we requested that the U Visa application be withdrawn, but they failed to do so at the time. According to USCIS, this was one of the reasons my case stalled; then the pandemic hit—bringing with it office closures—and in this way, seven years went by.

woaaaah, filed in 2018!!!! you should’ve filed write of mandamus back in 2020, it took so long!!!

@Fa AB I did that about two years ago, but it didn't really help much. What I've done recently is call every so often, and I wrote letters requesting an explanation for the delay.

@human kindness Of course, you have to call USCIS and ask which office has your case, because they tend to transfer them—or at least that’s what happened with me—and since my case was taking longer than expected, they gave me that option.
