delays: why don’t USCIS stop people from filling I134A for a few months, so they can take care of those backlogs they have now? Some applicants have been waiting for so long, this is nuisance

We’ve been APPROVED
I am weeping PD May 4th 2023. Consular processing, spouse, UK
Approved 2nd review May 17th 2024 this evening.
We have not been living together for two years. (I-130 process took a while to commence)
But we have just been approved. unbelievable!
Today I had another miserable day just wondering when this awful journey will end.
I have checked this app thousands of times and found the approvals really helpful. ❤️
I truly hope anyone who is waiting are approved tomorrow.
Texas Service centre
But started at Potomac before being transferred to NBC and ending at Texas 6 months ago which is where the approval came from

interview
After speaking with an Emma live agent, they informed us that my father’s interview has been requested but not yet scheduled. My first question is, should we actually believe what this agent said? I’ve heard that sometimes these live agents tell you some misleading information and I don’t want to get my hopes up. Also, is the interview normally scheduled before the approval for the I-130 and I-485? I’m a little unfamiliar with the process so any advice is appreciated!
Anyone experienced something similar?
PD May 18th 2021.
Filed expedite request based on humanitarian reasons back last week through congressman, it was assigned to an officer same day.
There has been no movement since then.
Two days ago I got a message saying “Notice returned to USCIS”, still no movement on expedite request. I have no idea what the notice could be about. I am worried that it’s an RFE or a Notice of denial.
Congressman spoke to officer on case yesterday who was going to consult with her colleague about the newest status on the case and get back to him hopefully today.
But has anyone had a “Notice returned to USCIS”???? if so, what was it in your case?
“too bad for you!” those with October 2022 priority date
USCIS just published data on pending I-485s. for those in ROW and EB2, October 2022 is the worst month to have submitted I-485 with the highest number of pending applications (2,419) while about half that number are waiting for November 2022 PD and seemingly no pending applications for December 2022!
prior to July 2022 PD, less than 1000 pending applications for each month of PD.
July 2022 1,362 pending
August 2022 2,018
Sept 2022. 1,939
Oct 2022. 2,419
Nov 2022. 1,263
Dec 2022. 0?
data: https://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/document/reports/eb_inventory_02222024.xlsx
what did October 2022 ever do to USCIS??
EDIT: I only included numbers of pending I-485s who are current. November actually has an additional 4,011 applications who are not current, and December 2022 PD has 1,952 pending applicants who are not current.
