my best friend applied in May 2023 and is also still waiting. I applied in November 2023 and got approved July 2024

Hi, thank you for your comment on my post. I am sorry for your wait. My stress would be much less if my family was better. Both my father and uncle died within 1 mo th of each other both from cancer and both with the MAID program in Ontario. My mother is struggling. I would like to receive just a normal travel document. I hope you receive a reply soon. Thank you

@Kingsley B - I’m from Ontario as well but had to look up what the MAID program was. OMGSH….I can’t even believe that is a real thing. I’m honestly so sorry, from the bottom of my heart. That’s really sad! 😢😢😢I can’t imagine what your Mom must be going through and you as well being here and not able to travel. 😔 Prayers you get the AP approval asap.

@Kingsley B I’m so sorry :( this story is awful. I do wonder if you could try to expedite your AP due to these circumstances even though some of it has passed. the inability to travel during this process makes zero zero zero sense to me.

@w s 🇨🇦🇺🇸 My lawyer seems to think because I had already received an emergency parole I would not qualify for an expedite. I had to come back because I had surgery booked here that could not be put off. I might just go ahead and apply. He has steared my wrong before. I don’t care about how last I get the green card, just seeing my family. I am greatful to people like you who are hear to chat with.

@Kingsley B yea a lot of people say their lawyers are not worth it. they don’t give a crap about you. I would try to expedite the AP. even if they deny you they may look at your 485 faster. best of luck!!

@fran fine - There doesn’t seem to be much going on in our block at all lately so definitely feels like we’ve been forgotten. Still praying they get to us soon though…I miss my Son and the rest of my family so, so much!

@Patiently Waiting The MAID program is gaining in popularity. Mt father had terminally ill cancer as did my uncle. What makes it very sad is that my grandmother is 101 and still has all her cognitive functioning. Thank you for your kind words. I will include you in my USCIS prayers. I hope someone or something hears them 🙏😊
