i130 case filed on January 11, 2020
I want to share an update, I could fill a case inquiry. just got an answer that states “On October 31, 2021, you or your representative contacted U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) concerning your I-130 Petition for Alien Relative because you believe your case is outside of our normal processing time.
Your I-130 Petition for Alien Relative is currently pending. We regret that we are not able to give you a specific timeframe for when a decision will be made on your case. “
I must share that my parent was deported 23 years ago. should I file the form I-212?
Understanding the Visa Buletin and Priority Date
Hello my fellow immigrants! I've seen a few questions around the priority date (PD), and I've had them myself. The answer to what it is is not always straightforward as it depends on a few things. So, I found this link, which I will also put in the comments for easy access, explaining what the PD is and other few things. This is based on the green card application and the Visa Buletin. Sit comfortably as it's a bit lengthy, and enjoy! 🙂

Postponed Oath ceremony
Am I F...g dreaming?!!!🤬😡 My husband's oath ceremony was scheduled for December 1st and our attorney now has to postpone it because he had a traffic ticket, he went to court, he plead not guilty and the officer wasn't during the court, so the judge gave another court day for February 3rd 2022. I was happy and dreaming to have my daughter soon and my documents and now I have to wait again😡😔😭

Passport renewed on OPT. Which passport number should I be using for H1b registration.
Hello,
I got my indian passport reissued/renewed as it was due in Jan 2022. My visa stamp is currently on the old passport and i94 is also being generated using the older one. So my question is which passport number should my employer input during the h1b lottery registration FY 2022.
I am concerned because this is my last h1b lottery attempt.
Any information on this is appreciated.##
Expedite requests don't slow down your case.
Expedite requests are a way to tell USCIS that your case should be treated before anyone else's, basically. That's why the approval rate of those requests is very low, as you need to give USCIS compelling reasons as to why you should jump the line.
Here's how expedite requests work:
you submit one, and it gets assigned to an officer. If this officer deems your request worthy of processing, they will request more documents to support your claims. If the expedite request was submitted by a congress representative, then they already sent all supporting documents (they require you send them those before they plead your case with USCIS). When the USCIS officer has all that they need to process your expedite request, this is where they decide whether your case is strong enough to be taken from the queue and approved right away or not. If your request is very strong, they approve your petition. If not, they deny your expedite request and your petition stays in line in the queue, where it was before you or the congress representative submitted the expedite request. So, you see, expedite requests don't slow down your case. They can speed it up, hence the name, but they don't slow it down.
Also, expedite requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis, and the USCIS officer who reviews each request makes decisions at their own discretion. That means that an expedite request can be very compelling and still be denied. It's not personal.
I hope this helps. 🙂
