Case Processing
I485 estimated processing time is 2 years and 2 months
Hi everyone,
On 2/19/2024, I filed I485 employment based (concurrent with I140 which was approved on April 2024) (PD 12/16/2022, current from April 2024 ROW). My case was originally filed at Nerbraska Center and was moved to NBC in mid Jan (after 11 months).
I checked the Inquiry Date today on USCIS website and it appears that the date I can submit inquiry is 4/6/2026. It’s so unbelievable.
The processing time at all local fields now is 13 months. So I don’t understand why it appears until 4/6/2026 that I’m eligible to inquire about my case.
This whole process is so frustrating :(
Finally Green
I’m grateful for the journey, no matter how challenging it was. It’s made me stronger, wiser, and more resilient. The green card a new beginning, and fresh start, and endless possibilities. I’m excited to see what the future holds.. 🕺 Jesus is Lord

Plan to travel out of country for 4 to 5 months
Hi Everyone,
I need your advice. I’ve been planning to travel to Canada for a few months but my green card is still pending but I have advance parole.
I discussed it with my lawyer about a month ago. The lawyer recommended some documents and said that I should go ahead with my travel plans, assuring me that I will be fine. However, with the situation worsening and Trump imposing a travel ban on Pakistan, I’m now unsure.
What do you think I should do—go ahead with my plans or postpone them?
I 485 approval time line after interview
Hello Families,
I have done my vawa based i485 interview yesterday and my status still shows correspondence was received and USCIS reviewing it.... Can you please share your experience after the interview how many days took for approval? did your status changed or not?
4 months from submission to approval
Had my interview yesterday morning in San Francisco and approved on spot.
Started with civic questions and read out “Who was Abraham Lincoln” as the ready test. Asked very basic questions and double checked my info.
They assigned the oath ceremony on the same day, one hour later.
Everything was super smooth and within 5 hours I was done with both the interview and the oath.
This morning I went for an walk in appointment for an expedited passport. Finally done with the immigration process and thanks so much for this community.
