I reached out to USCIS this morning and I was told my case has been transferred to Baltimore FO. What should I expect?
Priority Date (PD): May 1, 2024.
I-140 Approved: May 15, 2024 (premium processing).
AOS Concurrent Filling (I-485/I-765): October 3, 2025.
Biometrics: November 4, 2025.
Silente update 1: November 4, 2025 (2 FTA0).
Work permit (EAD) approved: February 25, 2026.
Silent update 2: March 3, 2026 (case transferred to Baltimore Field Office).
Silent update 4: March 4, 2026.
Work Permit Card delivered: March 7, 2026.
Silent update 5: May 11, 2026.
Silent update 6: June 2, 2026.
Should I expect interview? Any impresions about this office?
Can I respond to RFE directly if the RFE is addressed to my attorney
Me and wife got RFEs for missing polio vaccines.
Our attorney is asking for more money to respond to these.
We already paid a substantial amount during filing.
After doing some research it feels like I can respond to it myself.
It only needs updated I-693s from the medical examiner and submitted those with a copy of the RFE letter and a cover letter.
One concern I have is the RFE letters are addressed to our attorney and not directly to us.
Can I still respond to the RFE directly without the attorney?
Any suggestions here will be very helpful.
If anyone else has responded themselves to such RFEs, kindly share your experience.
My wife is not working yet and paying more to the attorney puts us under more financial stress
apply gc on visit visa
Hi all,
I got a marriage proposal from other country & I'm on a green card (GC) will enable to apply citizenship end of may 2026
She is asking if I can bring her on a visit visa and then apply for a GC in the USA
I said it usually takes 12 months to get her GC & she can stay a maximum of 6 months then leave
Then she said she wants to apply for an extension after 6 months so she can get approved for a GC and continue staying
I said, "What happens if it takes beyond 12 months and there's no reply from USCIS?
Could anyone advise?
Case transferred to a local FO
Hi everyone,
I was told yesterday that my case was transferred to a local FO (Chicago). I have gotten two answers regarding the interview. They said it is waived and other agents said we can't tell me that info. So, i am confused and scared .
Is it possible that i get approved without an interview? why did they transfer my case to a local FO
