If you have received the RFE notice, you can respond directly by attaching: * A copy of the RFE notice * The sealed medical report from your doctor You can send this yourself to USCIS. However, it’s always good to keep a backup with USCIS stating any notice you should be copo and in your name as well. To do this, call U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services and explain that the RFE was sent to your attorney, but it may take time for you to receive it. You can also request them to add your email to the file, even if a G-28 is already on record. If the RFE was issued about 7 days ago and you can inform the agent that you haven’t received it yet. In many cases, they can email you a copy of the RFE immediately. Even if you have a G-28 on file, you can still receive the RFE yourself and respond directly. I did the same—received a copy by email and submitted my response independently, and it was accepted.

@Be positive Thanks for the help. I was able to download the RFE from the documents section in my online USCIS account. can I use that if I don’t receive any in the mail? but the one I downloaded online is addressed to the attorney and not me.

yes you can use the downloaded version. to be safe please call and ask once. but as long as you attaching the copy it’s going on your file and nothing wrong. it’s only because g28 is filled by attorney is why it’s referring.

I did the same and directly send the 693 sealed envelope with the rfe copy to NBC, no need to go through your lawyer

no need for the lawyer. i responded to my rfe earlier in apr and case was approved in couple of days.

thanks all for helpful comments. my employer was able to bargain a deal with attorney and paid for it. so I sent it through them. if not then I would have mailed it myself after all your comments I was feeling confident.
