Combo Card Aprobed and Received: Beggining March 2021
Interview Scheduled: Beggining March 2021 (a day after i765 aproved)
Interview day: April 22nd, 2021
Interview was 1pm, we got interviewed like 2.15pm, 4.45pm I got a notification my card is being produced.
The interview guy asked for our birth certificates, passports, marriage certificate and my medical exam.
Then asked for joint documentation: we had car insurance, travel tickets, credit and checking accounts statements, cell phone bill. I did not have a lease together and he did not ask about it neither but I guess it would be better having one. He went through it fast and then asked for our taxes this year and I handed him them. (he only kept the irs taxes as a prove) Skipped the photo album saying that the pictures we sent when we filed were enough (were like 10 pics)
Then the yes/no questions. Did not ask my about my illegal status and working without permit.
He asked if we have moved since we filed, we said yes, that it was updated online, he confirmed and wrote it down on the form. Because of that I needed to sign again.
Questions in between as a conversation:
-Where did we meet?
-Where do we live now?
-Why do we travel to the same states always? (because of family)
Not much... he ended saying if I get aproved I would get the conditional green card at the address we have on file. "You can go"
Yes, I was expecting more questions specially about us. It was fast. No problems at all. Never separated.
My husband is unemployed for one year now. No problems with the affidavit of support, no questions. I am working though. But again no questions.
I don t now what else to tell you. Feel free to ask!
Good luck :)
HONOLULU, HI Field Office Adjustment of Status Interview (Married to USC) - Filed separately for the I-130 and I-485/I-765 đłïžâđđ
Hey guys, just wanted to share my timeline and experience. Had my interview yesterday 4/21 and was approved on the spot! So happy and grateful. I already had the I-130 approved and the immigration officer said it made his job easier so I guess that helped as the interview was only 20 minutes. The immigration officer was really laid back. He just went through the I-485 and confirmed the information and asked the yes/no questions which probably took the longest time. Then he proceeded to ask about how my wife and I met and where we got married. That was basically it. I handed my medical form and some joint documents. I organized all the documents with paper clips and post-it notes on what each of them was. He said it was way more than enough and took all of them since it was already organized together. He told us that I was already approved and had us sign the notice to conditional permanent residents paper. He said that my green card should come in the mail in about 30-45 days but I am hoping it is sooner as I received the approval/new card being ordered notification already (see full timeline below).
Here are the documents we brought to the interview and submitted:
- 2020 joint taxes
- Joint lease
- Our vet bills/adoption paperwork
- Joint travel itineraries
- Joint gym membership
- Joint financials (checking/savings)
- Joint wedding/engagement ring insurance
- Photos and lots of group pictures as well
- Family Holiday card/wedding cards

New Card Being Produced on the spot!
My wife and I were just approved on the spot! IO ordered her card right then and there. He was very chill and had a great energy, made us feel comfortable. We basically talked about sports, family and life experiences 90% of the time. He asked the questions from i485 and how we met.. when the baby was due (he saw that my wife was pregnant) thatâs it! We gave him plenty of proof, photos, wedding album, joint bank statements, car insurance, health insurance, evidence of trips we took together, cards and mail from family and friends. He told us we were approved and that he took care of everything for us.. then wrote down for us what we needed to do to remove the conditions since our marriage is less than 2 years.
Interview time was 8:00 AM, walked in 9 AM, walked out 10:30 AM.
NOTE: Both our first marriage, no lawyer, adjusted from ESTA but no intent and did overstay. Never received EAD Iâm guessing because interview was so close.
So thankful to be finally done. The anxiety and waiting is rough but As long as your marriage is actually the real deal youâve got nothing to worry about. Good Luck and blessings to all of you.

I-90
Hi I am Jesus M Marquez Jr I was brought here to United States when I was just a month old my mother brought my older sister, brother cuz my dad was already here he was working in the oil fields. It was 1989 when we all got a A# and SS card start going to school here in kindergarten so I picked up English pretty good because it would be Spanish at home. I am now 43 years old lost my ID and Green Card/SS tried to get my citizenship done. Paid $800+ and PASSED MY TEST only to have an officer make fun of my middle name and stereotype me. Now I didn't know about some outstanding tickets and apparently probation I had in a different city same state. Well he gave me a month to pay those tickets and told me to get my taxes updated because I've paid my taxes before. then I leave there without no ID go and pay all those tickets court costs and everything go to try to get my taxes they tell me I can't get my taxes without no ID so apparently they deny my citizenship. so I get in touch with somebody and they tell me I have to start all over on getting my green card so there goes another 600 bucks I just had to pay here recently and I'm still waiting on my i-90 that I turned in to get processed. why couldn't they just give me an ID or some kind of identification that says I've been here for 43 years of my life and I can get my life back together but right now I'm just sitting here doing little work here on the sides just to make ends money.
