GC in hand, when to expect ssn
hi guys, I called my local ss office as I didn't get any Social Security Card before interview. The gentleman told me no walk in due to covid, took my # and said he would call me back and give and appointment date. After 2wks I called back the office, the lady who I spoke to said I have to wait 12 weeks.
Anyone with the same situation as mine??

i would walk in to SSA office and apply.

I called and they called me back within the next week and scheduled my appointment, I think you can try another office.

thanks @johana, I called another office, she asked my zip code ND told me that's not the office that serves my area 🙄

@bribri flan sorry about that, our local here in CA allowed us to walk in, but the 1st one we called employee was just fiesty! i guess its just luck. hope you get yours soon.

im in North Jersey, I called the ssa, they said that they are going to give me an appointment in about 8 weeks... so frustrating
