Case Approved

Work permit & advance parole were received on the mailbox today
Hello everyone. It’s been a long and hard journey. Here is my detailed timeline. October 11th 2021 - Priority Date November 09th 2021 - Fingerprints were taken January 20th 2022 – I called USCIS to request an expedite of my work permit due to financial hardship. I never heard back from them. January 22th 2022 – I contacted via email the representative on my district. A week later I called to confirm whether or not they received my email. They confirmed and said they would get back to me. Two weeks later they called me and asked me for more details. The clerk’s office said that my case was not strong enough to request an expedite. After explaining my situation politely, I finally convinced her to help me. Basically, they said they would send an inquiry to USCIS in my name. I wrote a detailed explanation of my financial loss which was 10 pages of how much money I was losing every month due to being unemployed and about 50 pages of evidence like bills. February 9th – The representative finally sent the evidence in my name to USCIS. February 14th – I receive an RFE for my I-485 regarding the I-864 February 17th – Through Emma I contacted them regarding the expedite request and they said that the last update is that they can’t process my expedite request until they have my response to RFE. February 19th – Uploaded evidence for the RFE on the online account February 21st – Contacted Emma and they submitted another expedite request for me. February 24th – I received an email from USCIS requesting evidence for my expedite request. The same day I faxed the evidence. March 8th – I received the deficiency letter for the I-693 on my online account March 9th – My work permit & advance parole were approved March 17th – I received the card in my mailbox. My advice is to take care of your mental health during this process. Especially if you are out of work like me (it’s not renewal EAD), it can be really hard. Also, be patient but don’t be silent. If you believe you fit the criteria for the expedite request, try it. Contact your representative for help. My lawyer said it was not going to be helpful to request an expedite, but she has to eat her words now.
