EAD took over a year
It’s been incredibly frustrating for my husband not to work for the past year. We did two service requests and our next step would have been reaching out to our Congress person. The I 130 has already been approved and we have a second i485 interview in one week. If your EAD is taking a long time, start with a service request then reach out to your local congress person!

help I130 on our online account says 14 months for estimated until decision.
Hi guys! I have a question, when I log on my online USCIS profile to check my estimated date until decision for our I130, it says 14 months. The 14 months is coming up at the end of this month (May). But online I see it says 17 months. We send the I130 on March 21, 2024 and our receipt number is March 27th, 2024. Our receipt number came from Potomac Service Center but, they now it is at the Vermont Service Center. We never got a notification that the case was transferred. When should we contact USCIS? Based on the estimate that we see on our USCIS account or based on the general USCIS estimate that we on the general USCIS account? We haven’t heard anything from them. Please let us know!
Curiosidad! Just curious! 😔😭
Hi, I have a question. According to the recent news from USCIS and Donald Trump with these changes, has anyone been in the situation where their adjustment of status was denied for working without authorization before receiving a work permit? Let me explain: on the forms, you have to indicate whether you worked or not. Some people include it, and others don’t. Also, if you have an ITIN number and pay taxes, that means you worked without authorization, and that could cause problems in the future, right? I bring this up because I’ve seen and heard people say that it’s supposedly true and their cases have been denied, and now they’re appealing due to the changes under Donald Trump. I’m from RI and I’ve been waiting 11 months just to get my work permit, which still hasn’t arrived. Everything has been very slow since the fingerprints, and when I call, they always tell me to keep waiting. This month marks one year since I submitted all the applications, if I’m not mistaken, and I don’t know what else to do. I didn’t send in my medical exams because my lawyer told me it’s better to wait until they ask for them, since often when you send them with the initial forms, by the time your interview comes around, you have to do them again because too much time has passed. I pray to God every day just to receive a notification or a status update showing that immigration is reviewing my case. (This month also marks one year of marriage with my partner.) I don’t have kids because I need surgery in order to have them, and I feel frustrated and desperate.
