Returned to U.S. from Canada trip using Advance Parole
I just had a short trip to Canada for a friend’s wedding and vacation. I went to the secondary inspection with my USC spouse at Toronto airport, and waited for 2 hours. The officer asked some simple questions regarding our trip and relationship. He told us to spare more time next time because they have backlogs on their end. I was stamped on my passport and AP. I missed my original flight, but all was good.
NVC One Year Contact Requirement
Hi Community,
***I am looking for just similar experiences, not legal advise***
I’d like to know if anybody had any experience regarding this One Year Contact Requirement from NVC. I submitted my I-140 that got approved on 2023 and after that I received a Welcome Letter from NVC with an invoice for application fee to be paid and move forward via consular (I think this is the only option if the visa bulletin is not current). My point is, I already submitted my AOS which is pending but this NVC Case Number is about to expire now in August. Should I communicate anything to them that now I am moving via AOS?
Thank you,
a few tips from an immigration legal assistant-2
(I’m not an attorney and have limited experience in the field, but here are some tips from filing my own applications and working at the firm. Hope this helps! :)
3. When filing for adjustment of status, you usually need two passport-size photos. Use a pencil to write your name, date of birth, and A-number (if you have one) on the back of each photo. Mistakes happen. USCIS could mix up your photo with someone else’s and send you a green card with the wrong information. While you wouldn’t have to pay for a replacement (since it would be USCIS’s fault), you would still need to go through the effort of filing Form I-90. Try to minimize the chance of USCIS making a mistake on your case by making their job easier, it could save you a long wait.

Five months after interview
Interview for marriage-based green card in Orlando on March 14 went well. The officer said we would receive a response in 3 weeks, but it’s now been almost 5 months. The online status still says “Case must be reviewed”. Any advice?

isn’t Nebrasca supposed to be the fastest processing? I have applied jointly on Aug 7, 2023, today exact 24 months. Some web pages refer that nebraska processing time is 21.8 months approximately. What can be the reason for it to take this long and has anyone experienced the same from Nebraska?
Update info
I just got an update on my USCIS acct for interview is ready to be scheduled. Does anyone have any experience with this? My PD is Feb 13 2023 and have been CRP since Nov 2023. Case been at NBC as at last time I spoke to Emma. All the RN’s in my facility got theirs without interview, an I wonder why they wanna schedule me. appreciate any info pls if anyone has experience. what all do I need to take with me. The hospital lawyers are completely useless so I can’t take them with me
