Normal processing time 11.5 mo, but USCIS says 24 — why?
Hi all!
I filed my employment-based I-485 in Nov 2024, and it’s at the Oklahoma City Field Office (local). The USCIS site says 80% of cases finish in 11.5 months, so I expected to follow up by Nov 2025 if no answer will be given by then.
But through a congressional inquiry, USCIS said not to contact them until Nov 2026(!!). Has anyone else seen this kind of mismatch? Is that normal or just a generic response??
USCIS asked me to provide evidence about my child custody I filed appeal or motion and sent all documents prove like all my irs taxes apartment lease on my names letter by the Judge to the child

Finally approved. Glory to God
Timeline in photo.
I reached out for congressional help multiple times, but nothing came of it. I also submitted several USCIS inquiries, still no progress.
I was even prepared to file a writ of mandamus and had all my documents ready to go this week.
Then this morning… I woke up to an approval! 🎉

Shaking my head!!!
lol Look at my timeline and sympathize with me folks. The funny part is that I already had my I-130 approved in 2019 and don’t understand why the I-485 is taking well over 3 years gosh!!

Hi everyone
I have an I-130 (F2A – spouse/children under 21) filed on September 22, 2023. USCIS has shown ‘Case is Being Actively Reviewed’ since November 1, 2023, and I haven’t received any updates yet. Has anyone who filed in September 2023 or later already received an approval? How long did it take for you? Thank you!”
Advice on Delayed EB2-NIW I-140 and Congressional Inquiry Process
My I-140 petition under the EB2-NIW category has been pending beyond the normal processing time.I have raised a service request but its been 30 days and no answer yet . I consulted with my attorney, and they advised me to seek help from my local congressperson by submitting a request to the federal agency to follow up with USCIS about the status of my petition.
I’m curious to know if anyone in this community has gone through a similar process. Should I choose to go the congressional inquiry route, or should I also submit another service request to USCIS separately? Would taking this approach affect my case in any way—positively or negatively?
Any insights, tips, or shared experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help!
