Why is it taking so long?
Hi everybody,
It’s been 9 months(Dec 2022) since I applied and my case and is still under review.
They asked for RFE in June 2023 for my husband’s taxes (proof that he filed or exemption why he did not) but I have a joint sponsor who has a great income.
I sent the answer for the RFE and still no update on my case. I was hoping to get the work permit at least but nothing so far.
My lawyer says I just have to wait.
Anyone else had this type of RFE or similar situation?

RFIE I-864
I got a RFE for my I-864. My husband just started working in the beginning of August and the year before he was in Germany. So his tax return of 2022 is just about $12,000. Now he's earning over the 125% of the poverty guideline but just can submit like 4 pay stubs. If we would submit these pay stubs plus a letter from his company about how much he's getting paid, would it be enough evidence? Or would this be too risky and I should obtain a joint sponsor?
Did someone make the same experience?

Hi guys,
Just got off the phone with a very friendly agent. She gave me more details than the others ever did.
She said my case was pre-processing on the 27th of June, the background check has been done and they’re currently reviewing my case (as of the 9th of September 2023)
My status online was saying being actively reviewed on the 27th of June and she said this meant that they were pre-processing my case.
Any of you know how long does it take to be actually really reviewed by an agent?
Meaning when they really start looking at your documents in depth…

still waiting after almost a month
submitted our petition and haven’t had any request for biometrics like some people got after a month or even a few weeks. fingers crossed !
