My Advance Parole travel experience
Hello Everyone. I just returned back from my trip to my home country. Stayed 5 and a half months. My combo card is valid for 2 years until 2024. All went smoothly as all I needed was my passport for the trip to my home country. The return trip was also smooth as I used Turkish airways to the US port of Entry (Chicago). (Air France did not seem to understand what the Advance parole document was all about). Long story short, Immigration officer asked me one question: Where did you travel? Then proceeded to fingerprint and then sent me for secondary inspection. I was seated in there for about 30 minutes and then my name was called out. My passport was handed back to me. No questions asked. I walked out into the cold Chicago skyline and proceeded to breath in the pleasant air. Please don't be scared to use your advance parole. It is issued for a reason. So make use of it. Good luck
What an 8 year immigration journey!
I officially got approved today after the officer insisted during the marriage interview that he might request an I-601 waiver for misrepresentation but I overwhelmed them after the interview with a lot of evidence to show that I’ve never intended to do any misrepresentation. I have learned a lot from the Lawfully community and wish the best to all those waiting from USCIS.
Edit: I was not asked to file an I-601 waiver by USCIS. They approved the I-485 directly.
Happy New Year to you all 🎆

Ugh so tired of waiting! I’m currently over seas staying with my husband in Yemen waiting for an approval. So happy for everyone who’s gotten their cases approved recently! My lawyer who’s taking on my case has said I should get an approval anywhere from 14-16 months. My case has been reviewing since March 1st 2023. Seeing many people getting approved around 200-280 days in makes me wonder does the wait time vary on where your spouse lives?
I work with special needs elementary students and I’ve had to put my life on hold waiting for my hsuabnd to get to the states.
Coming back and fourth from Yemen to American isn’t so easy. So I’m planning on staying here in Yemen until hopefully I get an interview! trying not to keep my hopes up for an approval to high 🥲
