USCIS Reduces Official Estimated Processing Time For I-601A Cases for First Time in Years!
For the past several months, the USCIS website has listed processing time for I-601A applications as 44 months. This is the amount of time they estimate it takes to complete 80% of cases. Today I noticed they reduced that to 43.5 months. Yes, it's only a reduction of a few weeks and yes, it's still taking WAY too long for them to process I-601A applications, especially when compared to just 5 years ago when it took less than 9 months, and 4 years ago when it still took less than a year - but it IS progress. And as we've been seeing in other posts on the Lawfully website, it seems they're working through the backlog of older cases faster and faster all the time.
There's hope!

Case Remains Pending
Does anyone has experience on how long it takes for case status to update after "case remains pending"? My priority date is current since Jan 1,2024 and I've been with the current status since July 2023 (6 months).
Should I expect any news soon?

Two Questions
1. Work authorization approved today, for those of you who have already received yours, how long should I expect to wait on the card coming in the mail?
2. Husband applied at the same time and his case hasn’t been updated. Do you think his will also change soon or are they totally unrelated?

Based on my Experience
Hey Lawfully family
i know how hard it is opening this app everyday multiple times to see any updates.
To let you guys know i received my Combo approval few days back. Same like most of you people i really had to visit my family for an emergency and exact same time i got my approval.
am just posting to let you guys know about something.
If your case is outside normal processing time try submitting a service request and wait for their response. If their response is the same copy pasted message like due to high volume of cases it is taking longer leave it and then
try reaching the state senator and ask him for assistance. One of my Lawfully friend suggested me this.
Let him know like you tried sending service request and there was no use in doing that.
I did the same this month (dec 9th) and the senator office officials contacted me the same day itself and told that they enquired about that and i will get a response in 30 days.
Am not sure whether it is because i reached out to them or not i got approved for my combo card after 20 days of my enquiry to the state senator.
May be it might be a co incidence but still give it a try.
May be it will help.
I received am email from them Today as well regarding congrats on my approval.
i din mention anything to them like i got approved but that means they really talk with USCIS officials about the updates and then they came to know that i got approved.
i was just letting you guys know about this may be it will help atleast 1% of applicants waiting for approval.
i really wish and hope all our dreams will come true soon.
We don't need any benefits from this country
we just need our papers and health to work.

Hope everything be good to everyone this new year with hope and love.
EAD combo card/Vawa
Hello guys, first of all happy new year to you all. I have received my EAD combo card in March 2023 under a vawa application. I received the combo 2 weeks after with an error on the validity date of my card. I returned the card back to USCIS in June 2023. The case was approved again in December 11 2023 but I haven’t received the approval letter yet. On the USCIS portal it says that if I don’t receive the approval letter letter by December 26 2023 I should contact them. Does anyone of you guys have experienced this before? What should I do? Thanks a lot….
