Is it good if I-485 is transferred from NBC to non-local field office In Charlotte, NC?
Is it a good sign if I-485 is transferred from NBC to non-local field office? Perhaps the interview was waived? Nov 08 2022 - My husband’s I-485 was first filed. Our lawyer advised we send the Medicals with the initial filing so they have that already. Dec 05 2022 - Biometrics completed May 2023 - RFE for updated tax documents, birth certificate mix up, and some other paperwork Aug 2023 - worked everything out with taxes + lawyer and submitted RFE response It took USCIS more than 5 months to send a response to our submission for the RFE. Over that time we submitted about 2 service requests and they finally responded in Jan 2024. Jan 24 2024 - USCIS responds to service request via email saying everything is processing normally, nothing is outstanding (guess this means our RFE has been resolved), and the case was transferred to the FO in Charlotte NC (this is over a 6 hour drive from our home). Jan 27 2024 - we got 2 actively reviewing notifications Nothing changed in his documents section as of the morning of Jan 28 2024, but we will keep checking periodically. For what it’s worth, his my progress tab dropped from 7 months to 2-3 weeks. I know it’s not a super reliable section but I guess I want to be optimistic. Perhaps a non-local FO means the interview has been waived. I wonder how long until we get the approval. We will continue to be prayerful 🙏🏾 Update: the next day (Jan 29) we got RFE for medical (which we already submitted and had to do all over again for no reason) plus they also requested more evidence of a bonafide marriage. Sent it all in a few days ago. Now we’re just waiting and praying 🙏🏾
