Greencard for sibling over 21. Live & work in the US?
I know the processing time for sponsoring a Greencard for a sibling over 21 is longer than a decade but can they legally live and work in the US during this timeframe?
My sibling is in the US on a F1 student visa currently and I want to sponsor her so she has a backup in case her H1B doesn’t get picked in the lottery down the lane
My License Renewal with the Extension notice (pending EAD; Pending VAWA) was a success.
Hey Fam,
I thought i would post this update and maybe it might help someone else. My EAD is expiring May 22 2024 and today i went to the DMV to renew my license with my EAD. It was smooth. No questions asked. They only wanted my old EAD, social security and my insurance.
She didn't even mention about my EAD date of expire, I was the one who told her oh by the way my EAD is expiring in few days i have the extension memo from the USCIS website for 540 days... she answered, i know about the extension, you are category C9, you will get 8 yrs renewal. I was shocked. That was it. She didn't even ask for the EAD receipt notice or the i-485 pending notice.
She told me every DMV know about the extension because they received the update from the government. She said if the officer doesn't know abt it, ask for the supervisor.
This was North Carolina, Raleigh.

I-485 filing date for Spouse of Permanent Resident apllied on September 27, 2023
Hello all, like my title suggests, is it the right time to file for I 485 for permanent resident spouse? the filing date was Sept 2023, I 130 is still pending. but when we checked visa bulletin, the i 485 filing is showing Sept 1 2023. Previously when we filed I 485 after two weeks of filing I 130, we got it back stating that it was not the correct time to file. therefore now before filing, we want to make sure it is the correct time to file.
Any leads will be highly appreciated. #I-485 #Spouse #PermanentResident
Why skip meeeeee!
I think it’s so weird that most people who file concurrently and get their 130 approved they usually get there 485 approved within the same time period (like same day or next day) ….. but it’s been 2 months since i130 approval. 😭😭😭😭 Lord please bless this case and all the others pending! IOE092254**** anyone else experiencing the same? filing concurrently.
