Is his name on the child's birth certificate?.....if not, No! What I know is if the father's name is on the birth certificate, and you are filing for the child's citizenship (passport etc) then something may be needed to prove you have sole custody to move with the child away from his father. Again, if the father's name is not on the birth certificate, you need not worry about anything because you as mother has all the rights for your minor child. ALSO, it shouldn't hurt if you take a letter in case needed at the interview, whether or not his name is on the child's birth certificate.

@My P @O C thank u guys so much. make sense better I have it and don't need it. and yes his name is in birt certificate however he in not in jamaica either he working in Canada and trying to gain residence there. so I guess Amma have to figure it out
