i-130 approved, old case closed but pending i-485
Hey fam,
So, today my i-130 was approved and my old case was closed. When i responded to my medical rfes for both old case and new case, I asked them to close my old case and continue with my new i-485 with the attached medicals.
No update on my new i-485.. anybody with similar experience? i heard that once the officer types your A number all cases attached to that A number comes up.. so i know he has seen my new i-485 with the medicals ( they receved them 40 days ago).. anybody with similar experience? kindly share!

finally approved after nearly ~85 days of silence post-interview/I-130 approval.
for those recently approved, how long did it take you to get your physical card?? I have an international trip next week

AOS I 485 - interview completed but pending decision
interview was on Nov 3rd. i130 was already approved. They don’t want my wife in there for the interview and just spoke to me. There were no red flags or issues in the interview. My lawyer was present with me.
They added my son to the application and changed the AOS for a spouse of greencard to immediate family. What I failed to ask was, the change of status was due to my son or wife? my wife became a US citizen while the application was in process and documents were submitted to update the application.
I have been trying to log into the portal and get 500 error. Using the incognito mode of the browser, I see that the I485 status is not available.
anyone has experience with this? or have a similar situation?
Federal court awards $112 million to immigrants held unlawfully
On Nov 6th, 2025 Federal court in New York awarded $112 million to immigrants who were illegally held by the Suffolk County Sheriff’s office.
The Sheriff’s office had an agreement with ICE & held people longer than they should had on the basis of an ICE detainer, which was determined by the court to be illegal. Some of the held were legal & some illegal, but the monetary damages will be awarded to everyone.
PD is current, waiting since October
Straight filing scenario, date retrogressed back in 2021 and became current again in Oct bulletin. However, no update yet. Medicals would have expired, so went ahead and got medicals done. Waiting for the sealed envelope. Case is still showing as pending with NBC. Any suggestions?
“Notice Returned to USCIS – Seeking Advice”
Hi everyone,
I recently received an update from USCIS stating:
“Notice was returned to USCIS because the post office could not deliver it.”
My case status also changed from “Case Received” to “Notice”
I have never changed my address with USCIS — my address has been the same since the beginning of the case.
Has anyone experienced a similar situation? Do you have any idea what type of notice it might be or what steps I should take next?
Any guidance or shared experience would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
