Difficult times - losing hope
The past few days have been extremely hard for me. I was even hospitalized due to severe anxiety related to the current administration and ICE enforcement. Seeing so many innocent people being detained has been terrifying.
I’d really like to know: what are your attorneys advising right now?
I’m honestly considering preparing to return to my home country because I’m very afraid of being detained.
For context, I entered the U.S. legally in 2018, later overstayed my visa, married a U.S. citizen, and we were married for two years. Due to COVID and poor legal guidance at the time, my case was delayed. Filed for divorce because almost lost my life. After the divorce, I hired a new attorney and filed under VAWA with adjustment of status. I have a Social Security number, a valid EAD, multiple prima facie approvals, REAL ID and NO criminal records
I’ve lived here for eight years, have a great job, and amazing friends that are like family for me, but the fear has been overwhelming.
If you’re comfortable sharing, what have your attorneys been saying? I’m losing hope
Finally approved PD : march 2021
Me and my spouse got our GC approved.
No interview
Rfe issued for Medical (last rfe)
added my spouse last year and submitted rfe for her job and marriage certificate and birth certificate
previous rfe for me was pay stubs, Birth certificate, proof of legal status. (came in 2022)
again medical rfe
I am still working for my employer since 2022. I also do full time skilled work as well.
Hopefully this motivates people waiting for their approvals. 🤗
Partially Banned Country
I have been reading different news about the immigration pausing all i130 applications from nationals of the newly added partially banned countries. Is this true?

Interview was scheduled!
My interview is scheduled for next month. Does anyone know if there’s a chance of getting a same-day oath ceremony at the Long Island field office, or should I expect to wait a couple of months to be scheduled?

AOS I-130 not approved and no interview
I actually have a EB I485 which was not approved along with my husband in Sep-2022 and then the date retrogrades. Sine my husband got his green card he applied I-130 in Oct-2022 and I-485 in Oct-2025. I'm waiting for past 3 years and nothing has actually happened to my case. I'm wondering whether mine is treated as a cold case?
I applied I-130 in a different US state and moved to FL and applied I-485. When I checked with Emma, it says my I-130 still has older address despite I have updated address multiple times online. Do you think this causes delay to my case since both applications are associated to different address? Please advice.
green card in hand. tarjeta verde en mano
I am so grateful to God for this great opportunity, especially during these difficult times for immigrants. I already have my green card and I am so happy. All the stress, despair, and fear are gone. I'm going to have the best Christmas of my life. I wish everyone that their turn will come soon. Just ask our Almighty God. I can only tell you that God's timing is perfect and your time will come soon. Happy holidays, Vawa family, and I wish you all the best for 2026.

Travel to home country
hello all - I had a very nasty encounter with an CBP agent upon my return to the US from my home country last month.
I have traveled total of 3 times this year to my home country.
1st - February it was my grandmother’s birthday and I visited for 2 weeks to celebrate with her - 96 year old and I’m so GLAD I DID!
2nd - my brother was under severe depression and mental health issues and I visited again in April (for a week) to offer emotional support and assistance with his recovery.
3rd - November, I visited for my niece’s graduation - only a weekend but due to the recent hurricane it got canceled // upon my return to MIA from this trip, I was heavily questioned about my recent travel, if I have sexual partners in my home country, who bought my tickets, what I do for a living, etc. I was super uncomfortable-but I think that was routine? I was called into another part of the airport for them to check my luggage, but I was good and got let go but still - I was completely shaken up after that - am I not allowed to visit my home country? as long as it’s not more than 6 months outside the US?? I told my husband and he said he wishes he had been there but he doesn’t have a passport and refuses to go in to get one!!
4th - now my grandmother has passed and the funeral
is this Sunday. I am not sure if I want to take that chance and go. I already bought my tickets weeks ago and as the date is creeping up I am feeling somewhat uneasy about it.
Any advice?
