Hi Guys,
I got back yesterday from a 2 week trip abroad. I wanted to share my experience.
I was born in England but I am Asian. So I have a British passport. I am not Indian. I’ve used AP before under Biden Administration and I had no issues. This was the first time I travelled under Trump Administration.
I arrived back to JFK at 2.45pm and they took me to secondary inspection. where there were a lot people waiting. They told me to wait. I had 3 kids with me. 2 of which are US Citizens. I waited about 45 mins. The officer just confirmed my address. Then he said I had to do finger prints and get my photo taken. After that he asked me what category I applied for and I told him I applied for vawa. He asked me if I was married and that’s it. Then he said I was good to go.
A week before travelling I recieved an update on my i360 application notice was returned because USCIS was unable to deliver your mail. Because of this message I was really scared to travel. My attorney also advised me not to travel until we know what that notice is.
However I still travelled and made it back safely to the US.
Hope this helps.
Thanks

Today my case was updated again after several months; the last update was in December after a 3-year process. Today's update was due to the issue of my son's fingerprints, but it's a good sign; it means they're reviewing my case. Adjustment of status based on asylum approved within a year. 3 years of the I-485 process, still waiting.

EAD approved after a long wait. Now I’ll be waiting a few more years for my VAWA approval.
My EAD is finally approved! I’m grateful for this small victory. The VAWA process is still a long journey, and I know I may have a few more years to wait. Staying hopeful and wishing everyone good news soon.

One thing I learned is that silent updates don’t necessarily mean something is wrong. My case had multiple silent updates, FTA0s, FTA1s, and internal movements before approval. Looking back, they were signs that my case was actively being worked on, even though it didn’t feel that way at the time.
To everyone who is still waiting , please don’t lose hope. I know how frustrating it is to watch newer cases get approved first, and I remember thinking my case had been forgotten. But eventually, everything moved very quickly.
Thank you to everyone in this community for answering questions, sharing timelines, and keeping each other encouraged. This community helped me get through one of the most stressful periods of my immigration journey.
Don’t lose faith. Your approval will come. Wishing everyone the very best! 🍀🇺🇸❤️
