N-400 interview
Went for my interview today, the officer that interviewed me quizzled me about not including my child on my initial greencard application and why I said No to the officer that interviewed me for my greencard when asked if I have a child.
Fact of my case: My ex girlfriend got pregnant before I came to the USA but we fell out and never talked until she gave birth but I was sending money through my parents to her. So legally I didn’t accept the paternity of the child in the first place. Reason why I didn’t include my child on my greencard was because I did not have legal document to proof that the child is mine so even if I included her on the my greencard application, I wouldnt have any proof because the mother would not release documents relating to her birth to me at that time until recently when we made up.
N-400 interview: The officer that interviewed me today said me not including my child on my greencard and answering No when asked if I had a child and now adding her to my N-400 is tantamount to me lying on oath during my greencard interview. So he said my N-400 application will be held for further review and if they need more evidence they will let me know but I won’t be able to complete my process today. May I also add that I am in the military and everyone we came together are swearing in as we speak. Anyone in this situation before? Is this a grave mistake that will deny my N-400 eventually?
Confused if my N400 case is still open or closed??
I submitted my N400 through a lawyer on 16 Dec 2021, but I received a Rejection notice for the payment on 28 Dec 2021. My biometrics were taken on 13th Jan 2022. After my biometrics I never received my application back (typically happens when case gets rejected). And I see the case status as “actively reviewing, nothing is outstanding”. When I asked my lawyer he says : “we won’t have to worry until USCIS send the application back” BUT when I login to my USCIS online account, right above my receipt number it shows “Case closed”
I’m extremely confused and worried as to what to do now?? can I call uscis to check on this or how to get an update from them?? because someone I know got their interview in 4 months of biometrics. So now as my biometrics have completed 4 months I’m getting scared
Any one who can help me??? pleaseee
schedule a call
I went to the uscis website and I chatted with an agent thru Emma. he said an officer will call me. That was back 2 weeks ago. Today I received an email from USCIS stating that an offucer is going to call me tomorrow. So guys, I need your help. What should I expect from this call ? like what should this officer ask me about? Earlier I posted on Lawfully about my case. And you guys told me my green card might be approved. Do you think its like a phone call interview ?
