did anybody go through and can tell how the green card process works through marriage to a green card holder?
what if I’m in a pending asylum and marry a green card holder?
whats is the process like? how long does it take?
if my visa which is expired and has “2 year rule” do I need a waiver?

How long should I wait for a Green card?
Hey guys,
I’m wondering who’s waiting for their #greencard and how long? Can you please share you experience. I’m trying to share a timeline but the app doesn’t let me choose GC after granted #asylum.
My timeline is applied on Aug 26, 2022 —> “Case was updated to show FP were taken” on Sep, 2022. The case is pending for more than 205 days.
Who had the same? How long did it take for you?

I send my I-485 with I-693
I send my file last year in January with my I-693 attached to it.
Fast forward to today I received an RFE for my I-693 again when I have a copy of last year's form from the civil surgeon and their nothing wrong. It killing me because the more I have to pay for my green card.#i-693 #i-485 #greencard #rfe

I-360 VAWA finally approved after 9 years journey, need advice
My journey started in 2014. Fast forward to early 2020 when I decided to apply for VAWA because things didn't work out as it should.
I had my EAD every year renewed while I was waiting. However, due to COVID the extension renewal didn't come in time last year so I got laid off and unemployeed since Aug 2022. Reached out to congresswomen and filing for expedite didn't help either.

Today my I-360 after 3 years, finally got approved! With that, the approval letter says that my EAD will be sent to me seperately.
I am not celebrating yet because I don't have the green card in my hands yet.
The whole point of this post is to ask others who are in similar position: What's next? How long is the waiting time for the actual interview? And how difficult is the interview process?

Hi! I just received an online update for i485case saying 'Request for initial Evidence was sent' . My dependant's case status has not changed.
1. Is Request for Initial evidence different from Request for Evidence?
2. Can I view the notice online ? I don't see a documents tab in the Myuscis account. Is there a way to know what the notice says before the mail arrives ?
3. We did not send medicals with the form. Could it be just the medicals? has anyone received a medical request under Request for INITIAL evidence?

Good day all!
timeline shows that they take 4.5 months to approve cases. i am waiting for 25 months and got nothing. on october 14 2022 i sent an inquiry for outside normal processing time and after 2 weeks they emailed us to wait for 120 days to get a response. today we called them to inform that the time limit is over and we want an answer now and they ask us to wait for more 30 days. what can i do now? we have sent request to congresssmen and no response from them too. we both are tired now.

Hi everyone,
I currently have a green card for 2 years now and I’ll be eligible for citizenship in about 3 years(a total of 5 years). I just got married and my spouse overstayed her holiday visa and now I have to file for her(she is currently in the US too). I do see that for the category F2A the priority date is “current” meaning I can file both the i130 and i485 but the issue is I am seeing everywhere that I’ll need a waiver(i601A) because she violated the terms of her visa and because am not a citizen. So right now what will happen if I file for the i485? Will it be automatically be rejected without the waiver or will she be given a work permit until she is called for the interview then get rejected because she doesn’t have the waiver? I am asking because if she can get a work permit for now that will be good while she waits then maybe by the time they call us for the interview I would have been a citizen by then and the waiver will not be necessary. Hello everyone!
I have been in the USA for 7 years with green card, every year I visit home country once or twice. But this year I would like to invite my parents as a guest for a month or 2. I was told I needed some money in my account. Right now don't have anything significant in my account. But the company I work for is willing to sponsor and pay everytning for their trip. So what is the best way to set this up?
Should I send them an invitation and show my Company as a sponsor?
Or should my company send them an invitation?
Do I need an attorney for this or can I do it by myself?

I-485 Transferred from NBC To Phoenix FO
I talked to USCIS agent and she said that my application is in Phoenix(not sure why) . it was originally at NBC . My local field office is Seattle . Will it transfer to the right field office or they will make the decision there . Any thoughts ?
