I-130 process timeline
Hi guys, My husband filed an I-130 petition for me on June 16, 2024. It's now been over a year with no updates, and the receipt number starts with #IOE. The case is being processed at the #VermontServiceCenter. I'm wondering if anyone else is in a similar situation or has recently received updates after a long wait? We haven't heard anything, and I'm feeling a bit lost on what to do next. Any insights into typical timelines, or recent progress stories from similar cases would be incredibly helpful! Also, if you have advice on how to inquire about the case status effectively, please share.
Thanks and good luck to everyone waiting..

Made a personal USCIS case analysis tool
I was going crazy refreshing the USCIS site and trying other case tracking websites, but they were either slow, had annoying ads, or didn't give me the context I wanted. Got frustrated enough to build my own
https://www.mycaseshub.com
(you can google it as mycaseshub)
MyCasesHub - what it does:
- Enter your case number, get your current status + analysis
- Shows statistics from nearby case numbers (same range as yours)
- Breaks down case types and current status messages in your area
- Works with all major USCIS formats (IOE, MSC, EAC, LIN, etc.)
- English/Spanish support
Why I built it: Other tools either sucked or cost money. I wanted something fast and clean that shows me what's happening with similar cases filed around the same time as mine. No BS, just the data.

Scared and Confused – Divorce & Moving Out While I-751 Is Pending (Joint Filing)
Hi everyone,
I’m posting here because I’m feeling deeply scared and confused, and I honestly don’t know what steps to take next. I would be so grateful if anyone could help guide me through this.
I came to the U.S. on a K-1 visa and received a 2-year green card after marriage. Before it expired, we filed Form I-751 jointly, with a decent amount of supporting evidence. In March 2024, I received a 48-month extension, and the case is still pending—no final decision yet.
Emotionally, the marriage has been really difficult. We’ve lived together in the same apartment, but we haven’t had real communication in over a year. It’s been painful and lonely. The only shared proof we currently have is the lease to the apartment we signed together last summer. Other than that, we have no shared assets or documentation—no photos, no shared bank accounts, no joint tax filings (we filed separately), no recent trips, no celebrations, no nothing. It’s like we’ve been roommates, not partners. He wanted to separate everything slow by slow over the years.
I recently got a full-time job starting in August, and I’ve signed a lease for a new apartment. I plan to move out this week.
My spouse is also pushing for divorce—an uncontested one—and I agree. We don’t have any financial disputes or shared property. I want to end the marriage peacefully. But I’m terrified that moving out or filing for divorce now could damage or endanger my pending immigration case. I’ve spoken to lawyers, but instead of clarity, they’ve made me feel more anxious. Some say moving out is too risky, others say it’s okay, but no one gives me a clear, step-by-step answer.
So I’m reaching out here, asking from the heart:
👉 Can anyone please tell me what steps I should be taking right now, in what order?
My mind is so overwhelmed that I don’t know where to begin, and I’m afraid of making a wrong move.
My key concerns:
• Can I move out safely before the divorce is filed?
• Will separating addresses raise red flags for USCIS?
• Can I continue the I-751 without my spouse if I need to?
• What documentation should I start gathering now in case I need to convert to a waiver?
• Should I notify USCIS about my new address and new job right away, or wait?
• Is there any critical timing I should keep in mind (e.g. wait for biometrics, interview, or RFE before moving)?
I truly want to do things the right way. I want to stay in the U.S. legally and build a safe, stable life. But I also can’t keep living in fear and emotional pain. I’m not trying to game the system—I’m just trying to survive something very difficult while following the law.
If anyone has gone through a similar experience, or if you have any advice or resources, please help me. Even just a checklist or timeline of what to do would mean the world to me.
Thank you so much for reading this.

📣 URGENT — Second RFE from USCIS 📨
Hey everyone, I really need help or insight from anyone who’s been through this.
I received a second Request for Evidence (RFE) from USCIS regarding my petition.
The first RFE (in February) asked for proof of:
• A good faith marriage
• Battery or extreme cruelty
• Shared residence
I sent everything I had, including a 5-page personal statement explaining why I didn’t have joint documents or shared accounts. I also provided all photos, messages, and supporting documents I could gather.
But now, they’ve sent another RFE asking for the exact same three things again.
💔 I’m confused and anxious.
I don’t know what more they want from me, and I’ve truly done my best.
Is this normal? Has anyone been through this?
Does anyone know what else I can submit to satisfy these 3 areas?
Any advice, experience, or encouragement would mean a lot right now. Thank you so much. 🙏

Working during Green Card Journey
Dear Community Members,
The principal applicant during green card approval process is often employed. However, the primary beneficiaries may not. If it takes too long for the green card approval, unemployment is often a concern/worry.
My green card was approved under NIW category and I had a similar situation.
This post is for general help to most of you who have similar situation as me. If you are struggling for jobs beside having EAD during the journey, I want to provide free help. This can mostly help to your dependent.
I suggest getting in touch with me so that you can benefit from this: ghimirebhagi(at)gmail(dot)com
