SSN AFTER GETTING EAD (marriage based-AOS)
hey guys! For those who already applied for EAD for the 1st time through marriage AOS and are waiting for that ead to get to your mail to finally be able to work legally in this country, take into account that you also need a social security number that might or might not come along after a couple of days or weeks by itself after receiving ead, mine didn't (but it is supposed to as you request it on form I-765) so I went ahead and applied for it at the ss field office. (you have to call the toll free and make an appointment to walk in, you can'tjust just show up). I needed it as I got a job no less than 5 days after the ead was in my hand. Employers give you 90 days by law to come up with that ssn. I got my ssn finally in my mail today. It took 2 more weeks so please take that into account as well. Status says my case is ready to be scheduled for an interview since 09/14 but I have a job now and I can file taxes using ssn and it's going well now that I'm able to wor legally.

EAD Approved!! NBC April filer you are next!
Hey guys!! I want to thank this community for providing comfort and actively updates on info/timeline. I have been looking for info/updates for almost every day and knowing what USCIS is currently process is very helpful. Thank you all filers for sharing the info. I hope I can bring hope to my April filers folk and assure you that you time is coming soon! As many of you may notice, now NBC is wraping up March filers and start working on April filers cases. The info here indicated that as of today, they are arroving until April 2nd. So here is my timeline and the details on my case. No decision after I-485 Interview (K1 AOS)
Hey all, We will have had our AOS interview 30 days ago tomorrow. The officer was very clinical and was not in the mood for niceties. It was quite jarring as her questions were vague and difficult at times to understand what exactly she was asking. She got seemingly frustrated but clarified and we were able to answer correctly. Other than that, it was fine. Afterwards, she took about a dozen photos from our albums, and declined to look at any more evidence stating she had all that she needed and that she’d review it and we’d find out within 120 days (she emphasized this). We did not get a letter there nor in the mail and our case status remains at “interview scheduled.” Considering the status hasn’t changed to “under review”, it makes me think it hasn’t been touched at all. I’m concerned because we didn’t get a decision on the spot, but I’ve been told it isn’t abnormal. I don’t see why she wouldn’t approve it given the evidence, the previously approved K1, and the fact that we’ve been married for almost 2 years now.
