It’s been long overdue. Finally.
Am in Zambia, currently on advanced parole documents., I Attending memorial service of my mother in few hours today. After three years! this morning the news we have been longing for finally arrived. I take it as a sign of good graces from my mother, I have been planing her memorial service for the last 14 years. why I chose to do it this day I don’t know, but today is a special day for me. This process has not been easy!!! it’s been filled with heartaches, disillusioned and a trying of our patience. it’s been hard like most of you who are waiting, but in most occasions I found solace with this community. without y’all I have no idea how I could have kept going. To those still waiting I want to say that, it does get better.

Finally!!.
My journey started back in 2000 when I came to the US under an H1 visa which was renewed 2 times. The company did the sponsorship for permanent residency but the process was denied after 10 years of being in the US because the company was going bankrupt. I returned to my home country and 13 years later applied to EB2 NIW. After my previous experience I did not did not wanted to rely on a company but in myself. Applied on Nov 29th and got my greencard almost two years later. In my opinion H1 is not worth it if you are on IT or stem careers unless you lack of experience, there are too many ifs on that route.
Good luck to you guys, I am sure your road to green card will be easier than mine!

The main petitioner is a Green Card holder, while the spouse is outside the U.S. The PD is February 19, 2023, Case is in California Service Center. As of October 5, 2023, the case is being "actively" reviewed by USCIS. After that date, the estimated waiting time (I know it's not accurate) changed to "taking longer than expected."
I tried to contact my Senator’s office in June 2024, and the response was that the case was within the normal processing time range. Two weeks after that email, the waiting time reappeared on the USCIS website, indicating an approximate wait of five months. Now, in November, the waiting time has disappeared again.
What is the current timeline for this process? what should i expect? Should I consider contacting another Senator for assistance?
