Interview experience
Our interview was today at 8:00am in Chicago. I’m the beneficiary and I’m married to a US citizen. After checking in, we were called by a female officer. She requested my valid and expired passports, my DL, my birth certificate (original) and its translation, our marriage certificate, the sealed medical envelope and she asked me the following questions: Legal name, current and previous addresses in the US, date of marriage, last entry date into the US, my SSN and the YES/NO questions (examples: have you ever been deported, have you ever been denied entry or visa). Then, she requested from my spouse his naturalization certificate, his birth certificate and its translation and asked him the following questions: Legal name, current and previous addresses in the US, how we met, his current job. Then she asked if we have more evidence to give her. I gave her more photos, updated joint bank statement, medical insurance cards, car insurance, electricity bill, flight itineraries that we took together (19 flights in total). At the end, she said she’ll review everything and if they need anything, they’ll send us a RFE. Otherwise, they’ll approve our application and issue the GC. My spouse and I met in 2014, moved in together in 2015 and got married in 2016. We’ve lived together in three different countries. So we didn’t file immediately until we decided to stay permanently in the US. Let me know if you have any questions.
