Interview experience
Our interview was today at 8:00am in Chicago.
I’m the beneficiary and I’m married to a US citizen. After checking in, we were called by a female officer. She requested my valid and expired passports, my DL, my birth certificate (original) and its translation, our marriage certificate, the sealed medical envelope and she asked me the following questions:
Legal name, current and previous addresses in the US, date of marriage, last entry date into the US, my SSN and the YES/NO questions (examples: have you ever been deported, have you ever been denied entry or visa).
Then, she requested from my spouse his naturalization certificate, his birth certificate and its translation and asked him the following questions:
Legal name, current and previous addresses in the US, how we met, his current job.
Then she asked if we have more evidence to give her. I gave her more photos, updated joint bank statement, medical insurance cards, car insurance, electricity bill, flight itineraries that we took together (19 flights in total).
At the end, she said she’ll review everything and if they need anything, they’ll send us a RFE. Otherwise, they’ll approve our application and issue the GC.
My spouse and I met in 2014, moved in together in 2015 and got married in 2016. We’ve lived together in three different countries. So we didn’t file immediately until we decided to stay permanently in the US.
Let me know if you have any questions.

lol what if we dont remember all the addresses since you said they asked you previous addresses ,is it the address that me and my spouse lived at together addresses or addresses we lived at before we got married?
GED ChicagoFeb 8, 2022
She asked about the current address and the one right before it. In our case both are in the US. She didn’t ask about our addresses in the other countries or when we first met. They’re also on the the form that you submitted to USCIS so I strongly recommend going through these forma a day or two before your interview.

@GED Chicago pls I have a question? my I-485 has just been approved but the approval notices on the USCIS website has my spouse’s name on both letters. Do you think it’s a typo error or I should be worried ? i don’t want the green card to come in the wrong name 😞
GED ChicagoApr 22, 2022
I don’t have an answer for you question. I didn’t have my notices online on USCIS website. I don’t think they’d make a big mistake by having a completely different name on your green card. Give it 7 to 10 days and you should have it delivered to you.
