Case Processing
status changed after 8 years
hello, my families asylum case has been pending for 8 years. we filed in 2017 and after the status on my case was “next step: interview” since 2023, this morning it changed go “application pending” any idea of what that could mean? my case starts with a ZLA and it’s in the LA office.
K1 AOS process (I-485)
today I finally go for my biometrics. this has been the missing piece to my cases. it seems most people got their notice for biometrics almost immediately after filing, yet I waitied about 30ish days. my I-765 is also still pending at 48 days now. believing in God that after biometrics today I’ll get an update about the I-765! 🙏🏽
Certificate of Good Conduct/ Police Clearance Certificate
Hey everyone! My husband finally received his interview letter from Djibouti after a long wait of 12 months.
My lawyer informed me that having a police clearance or a good conduct certificate is not mandatory for his appointment. she explained that Yemen certificates are not considered reliable. However, when I searched online, I found that a police clearance is required and doesn’t expire until two years if he hasn’t left the country. He already obtained a police clearance certificate over a year ago, but I’ve heard reports of people being informed during their interview that the certificate can’t be older than six months.
Does anyone have any insights or information on this matter?

case moved to tsc
My priority date is April 2021. I made a service request and they moved my case to Texas Service Centre. When I call USCIS or emma they say My case will be out of normal processing time after Sep 26. 2026. Anyone on same boat? I tried to put in expedite request, they denied. No response on Senators request as well. I already had interview and submitted medicals on May 2024.
Case processing l -I30 /485
We applied for our green cards in late 2019, had our interview in 2021, and since then have only been renewing our EADs. Despite multiple follow-ups by us and our lawyer, there’s been no progress.
Meanwhile, my partner has stopped contributing financially, saying I earn more. I’ve been covering rent and expenses, including his vacations, yet when I suggest a small getaway together, he claims he’s too busy.
I confided in a colleague, and my boss offered company sponsorship. Their lawyer says it’s possible to file while my current case is pending, but a separate lawyer I consulted claimed I’d have to leave the U.S. I'm confused and not sure which direction to take.
TRES AÑOS Y AÚN NADA PUES A SEGUIR ESPERANDO…🤣🤣🤣
Para cuando mi Dios enti esta puesta mi confianza espero que pronto pueda tener buenas noticias y algún tenga mi aprobación 🙏🙏🙏🙏

I-130 & I-129F
Hello-
I submited the I-130 for my husband pd(8/7/24). In March 2025 I submitted an I-129F(k-3) because I was told it would speed up the approval of the i-130. I have yet to receive any notifications.. Impatiently awaiting for the day to come, and finally see an approval from USCIS. Long way to go after that, since it’s outside of US -NVC and consulate processing.
My processing office is Vermont Service Center for both applications.
Has anyone from August gotten any approval, that underwent similar procedure?.

Married to Green Card Holder While on pending Asylum — What Are My Options ?
I have a pending asylum case and recently got married to a green card holder. Now my spouse wants to apply for my green card. I’m trying to understand what my options are.
One lawyer told me I can’t do anything until my spouse becomes a U.S. citizen. Another lawyer said I can file the I-130 petition now, but not the I-485 application.
Is anyone else in a similar situation who can share their experience or give some guidance? I feel really lost. Please help
