Si yo no hubiera vuelto a aplicar, probablemente seguiría esperando años.
👀 Así que si tu caso lleva mucho tiempo administrativamente cerrado, tal vez valga la pena considerar esa opción (siempre con abogado). No se queden esperando eternamente como me pasó a mí.
Mucho ánimo a todos 🙏💚
My I-485 case was administratively closed
✨ Just sharing my personal experience in case it helps someone ✨
My I-485 case was administratively closed for over a year, and nothing was moving. After waiting so long, my attorney suggested submitting a new I-485 application, because reopening the old one was very difficult.
As soon as I filed the new application, USCIS reopened my case, and within less than a month I received my interview date.
If I hadn’t reapplied, I would probably still be waiting years.
👀 So if your case has been administratively closed for a long time, it may be worth considering that option (always speak with an attorney). Don’t stay stuck waiting like I did.
Wishing everyone the best 🙏💚
EAD C09 category
Hello everyone, I’m seeking guidance regarding my C09 EAD timeline. I filed my VAWA package along with the I-485, I-765, and I-131 on February 28, 2025. I received my receipt notices on June 6, 2025, completed biometrics on June 27, 2025, and also received prima facie determination that same month.
I’m still waiting for my EAD, and I would appreciate any insight on current processing times or when I might reasonably expect to receive it.
Thank you in advance for your help.
I-485 Case Errors & Delay
Honestly guys , when people ask how I’m doing, I never know where to begin, because my life hasn’t been life — it’s been survival on expert mode. USCIS has had me running in circles for years, and every time I try to breathe, another storm hits.
Back in 2021, I had to file two I-601 waivers — one for my I-485 and one for TPS. Both were approved, and TPS was even approved the same day. But instead of attaching one waiver to my green card case and one to TPS like any normal agency would, USCIS put both waivers under my TPS case and marked them as duplicates, leaving my I-485 with no waiver attached at all. Their mistake. Not mine.
Because of that error, they denied my I-485 saying the waiver was “missing,” even though I paid for it, filed it, and it was literally approved. I had to file a Motion to Reopen — which thankfully was approved — only for them to turn around and tell me they couldn’t fix their own mistake and that I needed to file a brand-new I-601. So I swallowed the pain, paid again, filed again, and waited again. That second waiver didn’t get approved until 2025.
By that point, if USCIS had handled things correctly from day one, I would’ve already been a permanent resident, working on becoming a U.S. citizen by now. Instead, I’m still here fighting every inch, every month, every year.
I submitted my medicals, my husband’s financials, taxes, W-2s — everything — on September 25, 2025, and since then my case has been sitting there like a forgotten file in the bottom drawer. No update. No officer movement. No nothing.
And all of this isn’t just paperwork stress — it touches every part of my life.
Financially, I’ve been carrying everything, paying for forms and lawyers, losing opportunities I should’ve had by now.
Emotionally, this process has drained me to the bone — anxiety, sleepless nights, constant fear of the unknown.
Family-wise, it affects my marriage, my stability, every plan we try to build.
Health-wise, the stress alone could be a whole diagnosis.
Community-wise, I’ve had to sit on the sidelines of life because my status holds me hostage.
Every hardship category they ask for in a waiver? I lived all five of them, line by line, year after year.
Some days I feel like I’m walking through fire with gasoline on my clothes, but I still show up, I still pray, I still fight. Because I know my story deserves a better ending than this. At this point, I’m preparing to file a mandamus by myself, because clearly if I don’t push, nothing moves.
So if you see me tired, distant, or fed up… it’s because I’ve been carrying a whole battle on my back for years. This isn’t just an immigration case — it’s a testimony in progress, and one way or another, I will finish it.
Inquiry Regarding Internal RFE and Outstanding Document Requirements – Form I-485
Hello, I am reviewing my I-485 case updates via Json Api online and I noticed that the USCIS internal data shows an RFE created and marked as response received on 10/07/2025. However, I never received any physical RFE letter or online notification. Can you please confirm: Whether this RFE was internal or required action from me? Whether the financial documents (tax return + W-2s + I-864) I submitted on 09/25/2025 were used to satisfy that request? Whether there are ANY outstanding documents needed from me at this time
1 month since interview
So it has been a month since I had my N400 interview. I had my interview in the Tampa office but it was done virtually with an officer in LA. my digital and physics files were transferred the week before to LA. I passed everything and the officer said she would adjudicate same day, and she actually did which I can tell by the JSON file. Does anyone have any experience or heard about the length of time it takes to adjudicate an N400 in the Tampa office?
