Case Processing
November 2020
what should I do? should I file mandamusI contacted my congressman and received response today that said
‘’Below is the reply from the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) that we have received on your behalf.
It states, "The Vermont Service Center (VSC) received a Privacy Release Form signed by from Congressman office.
Your constituent’s Petition for Amerasian, Widow(er), or Special Immigrant (Form I-360), Receipt Number EACxx, and Application to Register Permanent Residence or Adjust Status (Form I-485), Receipt Number EA, are pending security checks at USCIS.
We have checked into your constituent's case and have been assured that USCIS is aware of your inquiry and is monitoring progress related to it. However, unresolved issues in your constituent's case require a thorough review before a decision can be rendered. Unfortunately, we cannot speculate as to when this review process will be completed.
USCIS requires extensive background checks for every application or petition. While background checks for most applications or petitions are completed quickly, a small percentage of cases involve unresolved background check issues that result in adjudication delays.
Background checks involve more than just the initial submission for a response related to biographical information and fingerprints. Further inquiry is needed when checks and/or a review of an administrative record reveal an issue potentially impacting an applicant's eligibility for the requested immigration benefit. The inquiry may include an additional interview and/or the need to contact another agency for updates or more comprehensive information. If it is determined that an outside agency possesses relevant information about a case, USCIS requests such information for review. Upon gathering and assessing all available information, USCIS then adjudicates the application or petition as expeditiously as possible.
We realize that your constituent may feel frustrated by delays related to his case. USCIS must weigh individual inconvenience against the broader concerns of public safety and national security.
If we may be of further assistance, please contact the Vermont Service Center Congressional Unit."

Washington DC Field Office
I’m frustrated with this field office. My case has been there for a while and still no action. my PD March 22 23. I got friends who’s cases were sent to their respective FO around the same time as mine and they have their GC in hand. it’s easy to say stay patient but when u see everyone around you getting their GC that anxiety creeps in.
Arriving Alien with final removal order since 2016 APPROVED
My interview was 06/06/2024. Priority date 04/13/2023.
I received an rfe back in January from USCIS asking to prove eligibility as an arriving alien which we responded with by sending ( Notice to Appear, parole document from Ice) and an explanation of my parole under 212(d)(5) as an arriving alien and why they 100% have Jurisdiction even with my final removal order.
Now I need to go back to the court to Reopen and Terminate my removal…And based on my approved I-485, the Immigration Judge is Warranted to reopen and terminate any removal in record.

i130/i485 concurrent filing. I130 just approved, how much longer for i485?
our receipt date is June 2023. I130 approved today. No end insight for i485. has anyone had a similar experience. Did the i485 get approved after, and how long was the wait? my case is sitting at san diego field office with a 20 month processing time. I really hope it won't take this long.
Question about this retrogression
I'm always confused about the USCIS dates, and now with this retrogression. My PD is June 2022. Do you know if my case will be delayed because of this retrogression too?
My lawyer sent the I-485J with my medical RFE hoping they would approve it faster. They received everything, and I'm still waiting for a decision. This wait is killing me 😫
