I went for interview in February 2021 the interview went well the lawyer was not present, myself and my husband were in the same room…the consular said he believed our marriage is real because we have kids together and he will recommend my case for approval. I was so excited and i was hoping to get my card in the mail in the next two weeks but there was no update on my case…… I cried, was depressed, I was loosing it and had sleepless nights but after 5months and 10 days card is being produced. one thing that kept me going was my husband’s love and prayers. God is great indeed. don’t give up

USCIS to NVC took just over a year. Now we are facing a backlog at the Embassy.
We got approved in January 2021 and then we submitted all required documentation to the embassy ( in Nigeria) In April, I received a mail from the NVC saying that my case was 'documentarily complete' and that the embassy will schedule a visa interview. Several months later, we are still waiting for the interview. Information that I got from the lawyer handling my case is that there's a backlog at the embassy due to COVID-19, so they are not operating at full capacity. Also, the immigration ban that was placed on Nigeria in 2020 could be a factor.
It will be good to know if there are other people in the same boat.

Had interview today
I just want to give back because people’s post here helped me through this process. I never knew what emma was or expedite request until I found this app. The interview was smooth, he only asked us how we met and we gave him some of our documents like lease, auto insurance, life insurance with my wife as beneficiary, flights and hotel reservations we have had together. Looked at our pictures too. The officer says if everything is fine then I should get the card in the mail in some weeks. Got and update on this app 3 hrs after that new card is being produced. FO is Charlotte, NC

Expedite request for EAD received on May 10 (Got an email some days later saying they can’t expedite because they are waiting for bio, got bio appointment some days after this email)

Bio was taken on May 27 (2weeks before when I was actually scheduled for)
Ready to schedule for interview on June 1
Expedite request for EAD was received on June 21
Interview scheduled on June 25
Expedite request approved on June 28 (no request for evidence)
New card being produced for i765 on June 29
Card was mailed to me July 1
Aug 3 - Attended interview
3hrs later got an update that new card is being produced for i485
