Case Approved

Case finally approved
I was in the Oct 2020 cohort of marriage based AOS applicants whose case was stuck in limbo. The lawfully community helped me put many things into perspective. So, I’m glad to share my timeline. The AOS was handled by the Baltimore FO. We were scheduled for interview in November 2021. Interview went smoothly. They had us in and out in 30mins (15 min interview + 15min logging our information into the system). Officer assured us we’ll hear back in 30 days, but handed us the obligatory 120 day held back for review notice saying that a supervisor has to sign off. We were concerned when we saw that the FO, like others, was in the middle of a digitization process. As we feared, we never heard back from the office. So we waited for about 5 months after the interview and contacted our senator and our district representative - April 2020. The latter reached out to USCIS and informed us that his office will revert after hearing back from the FO - March 2022. My EAD was approved in June after submitting a case out of processing time request - approved 1 week after request. Last week of June, I submitted a similar request with the I-485 application and proceeded to log a FOIA request for my case file and my case got approved on July 02. #BaltimoreFO #Potomacservicecenter #NBC
