EAD / Case Closed Benefit Received By Other Means to Case Reopened for Consideration
Hi Everyone,
I wanted to address the issue regarding the latest USCIS glitch for EAD based on some AOS cases last week. Whether the case is marked as "Case Closed Benefit Received By Other Means" or "case reopened for consideration," if it is clear that it is a USCIS error, can we expedite the EAD for those whose cases have been reopened for consideration?

Is it possible for USCIS to change the category of my immigrant visa from F3 (married son/daughter of U.S. citizen) to F4 (brother/sister of U.S. citizen) in the event that my original petitioner has passed away, and a petition for substitution of petitioner has been filed to continue the case?

I'm hoping from an answer by the end of the year or the beginning of the next one but it honestly feels like an eternity! My case is in California since October 2022. I heard it's taking a long time but I hope to hear good news soon.

Is anyone is awaiting a receipt acknowledging that they received your vawa case?
I applied since Oct 2022 and never received a receipt or any notice from uscis. I talked to my lawyer multiple times who then told me that the location for vawa application was changed and it was possible that the application was lost in the move or mail. The money order was not cashed. We resent an application in late May 2023. I'm still waiting for a receipt which im still hoping for in a few weeks. My
lawyer reached out this past week to let me know that he received a receipt from an application he sent in 3 weeks prior to my second application.
Has anyone received an update since their last check in? And what was the time frame like? #vawa#waiting#help
