Green Card Approved after long wait
EDITED:
Guys, I just wana come back to inform you all that it’s officially done. My Green Card was delivered this morning. TO GOD BE THE GLORY!!!!
Apparently, they forgot to issue my card in October so I called them on Nov 6 to start a Service Request for Non-delivery of card. They responded in 2 days that my card is now in production(Nov 8). Yesterday Nov 15, I got two notifications “Card Was Produced” and later in the afternoon I got “Card was picked up by USPS”. Then this morning around 11am, my card was delivered. PRAISE THE LORD GOD!!!
What I will say is never give up. Your approval is next in line.
Hi community,
I decided to wait until I receive the physical copy of my green card before posting this but I thought it might be helpful for someone here.
This is my story:
I applied for both form I-130 & I-485 in January 2022. My case started processing so so fast after that. My priority date after USCIS received my forms was February 1, 2022. Attened biometrics in April 2022, called for interview with my spouse on June 6, 2022. Interview went very very well. Officer approved my case on the spot and informed me to expect my green card within 7-21 days. Now here’s where the wait started. The petition status changed to case approved on June 7,2022 (a day after the interview) however I-485 remained Interview Scheduled since that date.
The Waiting Stress & What I did:
Honestly, the stress is real and it can be extremely worrying if you don’t try to keep yourself busy with something else.
I kept waiting for about 15 months after interview for I-485 to be approved but nothing.
Here is what I did.
1. I called ISCIS to speak to someone for about 3 times and in all the calls, they all gave me the usual generic answer of “Your case is still within processing time”. I got tired of that answer and decided to stop calling them again. Remember the processing times kept increasing pushing the time I could contact them again far and far.
2. My spouse and I started talking about sueing them in order to get some sort of decision. This was an option I found from an immigration lawyer (Jim Hacking) but I was scared to go ahead with that option. And also wasn’t ready to pay over $5,000 to sue USCIS so we decided to hold on and use all other options available.
3. Finally I wrote to my State Congressman for his help inquiring from USCIS and requesting them to approve the case because it’s been so so long after interview.
I received an email from the office of the Cobgressman on September 21, 2023 (which is just 1 day after I emailed them). They asked me to fill a form before they can contact uscis on my behalf.
In the form I filled, I specifically stated how long my case has been, the word of mouth I received from the officer after the interview, and how the delays has affected my mental health and the fact that I couldn’t travel with my spouse back home because I stand a chance of loosing my students visa F-1 which I maintained during this process.
On September 22, the emailed me that they’ve contacted USCIS on my behalf and will inform me of any decision.
On September 23, I received an update from uscis saying “Case Is Actively Reviewed by USCIS”. That gave me hope but I didn’t know how long that was going to take. So I kept praying and hoping for a good decision soon.
On October 3, 2023 I go a second update that “Case is Approved”.
Lessons learned:
1. Two things you can do as you wait:
- PRAY and stop worrying about your case about your case (Philippians 4:6)
- Believe and have faith that your case is next in line for approval whenever you hear someone’s case is being approved. It’s a positive medicine that heals your soul and spirit as you wait.
2. Use all free options available before considering the paid option (which is paying an attorney to sue)
3. Utilize you state congressman/woman or Senator. Tell him/her how you want them to help, how the delay has affected you (it can be mental, financial, etc).
The verse that has been helpful to me during this process is my favorite scripture in the Bible (Philippians 4:6). It can be a blessing word and encouragement for you.
Wishing everyone best of luck and I declare in the name of Jesus Christ that YOU’RE NEXT IN LINE FOR APPROVAL.
I am open to answer any questions you may have about my process.

EAD and AP extension when PD retrogressed
Hello,
I filed I485, I131 and I765 when my PD was current. its no longer current, as the dates retrogressed. When the time comes to renew my EAD and AP (in future), is it dependent on the PD being current or not? Or can I simply file to renew these indefinitely till my I485 is adjudicated?
Also, I have approved EAD, but still waiting to get AP. Since my PD webt back, will uscis still look at my case or will they do it only when the date becomes current?
Thanks

QUESTIONS - DS 260
Hi all. I have a number of questions regarding Form DS 260. Please help me understand.
We have submitted all documents. The location of the interview is indicated in Georgia, Tbilisi. Date unknown.
1) Approximately how long after document qualified (DQ) will the interview date become known?
2) How long does it take to obtain a visa after an interview in Georgia? That is, after the end of the interview, how long will I have to stay in Georgia? I live in another country, so I want to know. #ds260#SpouseofUScitizen
