f2a interview
hi everyone, my PD is Dec 2023 and I had my interview (Chicago) yesterday for I-130 and I-485.
How long does it take to have a decision? my medicals where sent, my pd is current, I had all documents, interview went ok I think, very professional, no issues. I’m jus wondering if this is gonna be a case of waiting another year or so
Sept 11 I485 & I130 both denied on Sept 11 , 2025 . After meeting 4 lawyers , I chose submitted I290B Motion reopen by myself . Took me 20 days only , I got both cases reopened and GC approved .
I just want the families here to cheer up , never give up , not a deadend when got denial , be clam and there is a way out !

🟦 EB-2 I-485 at San Jose FO — Dependent EAD Approved but Mine Still Pending? Normal?
Hi all,
Sharing my timeline and hoping to understand if this delay is normal at the San Jose Field Office.
My Case (EB-2 ROW):
• PD: Sept 25, 2023
• Filed I-485/I-765/I-131: June 2025
• Biometrics done
• Medical RFE received & responded
• i485 :Case now at San Jose FO, i765 at Nebraska
• December VB: EB-2 ROW current (Feb 1, 2024 cutoff)
What’s confusing me:
👉 My wife’s dependent EAD was approved, but my own EAD is still pending, even though we filed together.
What I’ve learned so far:
• San Jose FO is slow for EB cases (often 10–15 months).
• Principal’s EAD can be delayed if the principal had an I-485 RFE — dependents aren’t affected.
• Dependent EADs often get approved faster because they’re simpler.
• 5 months for a principal EAD is still within normal range (3–7 months).
• Being current in the VB doesn’t mean instant I-485 approval; FO backlog still applies.
My Question:
Has anyone else at San Jose FO had their dependent EAD approved first while the principal’s EAD lagged?
How long did it take for your own EAD/GC to move after that?
Thanks!
GREEN CARD….
I pray to god everyday for my day to come.
its been 10 month since USCIS ask for initial evidence on my case and still haven’t gotten any type of update on my case after that.
MY PD is April 2018…….
