I’m looking for some real guidance about my green card (I-485) case.
Hi everyone, (Sorry for the long post)
My application has been pending for 20 months now with no updates since biometrics. With the new immigration environment under Trump making everything tougher and slower, I honestly don’t know how to move forward anymore. I spoke with my attorney about filing a Writ of Mandamus, but they discouraged me, saying it might not be the best option right now.
At this point, I feel stuck and frustrated.
I wanted to ask the group:
• Has anyone filed Mandamus recently under the new administration’s policies?
• Did it help move the case?
• Is it risky in this current climate?
• What would you do if you were in my situation?
And if anyone knows a strong attorney who confidently handles Mandamus cases, please share their info. I’m really tired of waiting without any progress and just want to know the safest and smartest way to move forward now. And, I’m not from any high-risk country. Thanks in advance for any advice or recommendations. 🙏
EB1-b Approved!
Finally! After three years on H1B and two years of work on the green card petition, we received the approval notice for the adjustment of status today!
However, I need to travel in the next days and don’t have the physical green card yet. Not sure if I can use my AP for immigration…

interview requested emma
I spoke with a USCIS agent who told me that my case was requested for an interview (11-13-2025 Interview Requested )a few days ago. For those of you who received a similar update - how long did it take from the interview request to getting the actual interview date scheduled?
Am I approved or what?
I had my interview December 2nd, the officer said everything looks good and that a background needed to be done, after we got out there we got codes FJ+FTA1 and status is actively reviewing by uscis.
ppl is saying FTA1 is that a sup needs to review
chat gpt says that FJ + FTA1 means internal approval.
Questions about my A5 status to a green card.
Hi everyone, I’m hoping someone here might have some insight.
I came to the U.S. through an I-730 follow-to-join petition and I have an A5 card. I’ve already submitted my I-485, and it has been about 450 days.
When I ask EMMA, the response is always the same:
“Thank you. I am showing this case is in process at the WASHINGTON FIELD OFFICE. I am showing this case is processing normally. It is not taking longer than expected. Nothing is outstanding nor is anything needed at this time.”
My case has been at this field office for almost a year now, so I’m wondering how much longer the wait might be.
Also, will the recent asylum pause affect the processing of my green card? I’m not from any of the 19 countries on the list.
Any advice or similar experiences would be really appreciated!
