Is there a way to expedite my case?
The wait has been too long. Some of the people I know already got their green card.
Anyone having similar problems?

Green Card in hand finally. Thanks God and thanks to the wonderful lawfully community.
We are finally done with this super long journey that started back in Dec 2017.
1st motion to reopen received on 5/21/21. Case got reopened on 5/2/22 and GC production ordered the same day, approved on 5/3, mailed on 5/5, picked up by USPS on 5/6. GC received on 5/7, 5 days from case reopening.
Saying we’re happy is an understatement. We’re grateful to God for allowing us to reach to this point.
These last 6 months have been crazy with the last 3 being super intense (we had to take over as lawyer kept saying to wait indefinitely without doing anything).
We submitted (alone):
-6 cases inquiries (4 completed with no responses)
-1 tier 2 call received after 6 weeks of request just to get the wrong directions such as I-290b filing while case was never denied.
-2 congressional inquiries (which worked for EAD and AOS)
-New motion to reopen drafted and sent to FO (Initial one filed by lawyer was silent for almost a year)
-2 expedited requests (1 successful)
-FOIA request (Received)
-Medical interfiled 11 days before GC approval.
-Multitude talks through Emma (Some more confusing then others).
Hope this helps and encourages you as these news with detailed explanation used to encourage me along the way.
Thank you to this wonderful community for your support, thoughts and encouragements.
I pray for God to get you that releive you all need.

green card expired - travel
Hi all, I need your help. A family members is a Greencard holder, he just noticed his GC is expired. I plan on helping him fill out the I-90 form. But an emergency has come up. Is there a way to travel outside the USA with a “permit” while the i-90 is in process? if so, what form should we use? - Thanks in advance. #i-90, #renewal #expired #greencard

Green card finally approved after almost 5 years and 1 year later than primary applicant
Today is 2 months since combo card aproval after personal and congressional expedite processing requests/inquiry and 1 month and 5 days after congresssional inquiry for I-485 outside normal processing. We were very happy for the EAD/AP aproval but today words can’t explain our joy or the kind of relief we are experiencing right now.
As you can see it’s been super long and painful. But God heard our cries and prayers and came through when we least expected it. Glory to the Lord almitghty.
It’s a long story with all kind of experiences with USCIS but we are super happy and grateful to God for closing this chapter in our lives. Now counting down to receive the actual card.
“DO NOT” hesitate to contact your congress reps for help even if you think it might not be successful. You never know when it’s gonna work. There is nothing to lose.
Thanks to you all for your support and I pray for you all to get relieved soon.

Haven’t received any work permit or any updates. Has anyone received anything or are there also people waiting on any updates?

interview experiences Texas San Antonio office
hey y’all,
we just got the notification from the portal that our interview for marriage based I-130 and I-485 has been scheduled 🎉
I wanted to ask if anyone has experience at this office ? And if so, how did your interview day go? What did you bring all? What did you wear? Did you bring the whole package that you sent with the application or just new evidence?
thanks so much!

k1 ; AOE I 485 approved 💫
2 days ago I had my IV for green card in Harlingen, Tx. The officer was very professional and kind, btw she did not check a single document, but my passport and my husband’s ID. Although we brought a full folder with files of documents, copies and originals including proofs and tax transcripts, receipts, bills, photos etc. She asked me when we met and how many years ago, and also she read the list of criminal questions, I gave her yes/no answers from the form. that’s all. She approved after few minutes. So happy that the whole process of AOS took 59 days!!
Wish y’all luck #k1fianceevisa #aos #greencard #texas

Waiting after 485 interview
I had my interview scheduled at Federal Plaza in Queens NY in December 2021. It still simply says interview scheduled, even after the agent said that it will be approved in about a month. How long did you guys wait for the status to change and green card to be processed? #interview #greencard #NYC

Traveling with GC EAD/Advance Parole and I 485 pending
Hi,
I have GC EAD and Advance Parole approved few months ago and I-485 is still pending in EB3. PD is Oct 28, 2013. I am currently working on H1. Can I travel to India without getting H1 re-stamped and enter to US on GC EAD/AP?
Few more questions:
1) What impact would it have on my H1 if I enter on GC EAD/AP? Can I continue to work on H1 with current employer? Please note, my employer will not file for H1 extension per their policy. H1 expiring in Feb 2024.
2) Do I need to transfer my existing job with current employer from H1 to GC EAD, before I leave for India in order to re-enter in US on GC EAD/AP?
Please advise. Thanks!

resources I found so far (links in comments)
I wanted to share some resources that may be helpful if your case has been pending for a long time and is now outside of the processing range (you can check if your case is within the processing range here https://egov.uscis.gov/processing-times/)
1) You can reach out to your congressman/congresswoman, who can send an inquiry to the USCIS about your case. They will receive an answer back. This may be the same information you already know but worth a try. You can find your congresswoman/man here: https://www.house.gov/representatives/find-your-representative
2) You may also reach out to the Ombudsman office.
https://www.dhs.gov/topic/cis-ombudsman
Typically, they deal with cases past processing time, cases with errors, cases where an individual is in removal processings, cases involving emergencies and hardship, and other reasons (please refer to the full list thru the link).
I also started a group on Telegram where we can communicate: https://t.me/+jGAv6ngoDxoxNGIx
You can also send me a message on Telegram and I’ll add you to the group: my name on there is @Kay_1992 (Bunny K is me)

difference GC to EAD (EB filler)
hi guys!
so just to clarify...it looks like the process to get GC and the one to get EAD (work/travel), after received by USCIS goes through two tottaly different processes, right?
GC takes in consideration the PD, so receipt and fingerprints date don't matter much...
while for EAD, the receipt date is the most important, but fingerprints looks like have a little bit more weight... is my assumption correct?
my case:
I'm Texas filler SRC212..., PD jun 2020 / receipt Jun 2021 (if I'm not wrong... please look attached timeline) EB-3. Lawfully says that GC could arrive before EAD, which would make sense if PD is more important, since it's 1y before receipt on my case. (both for somewhere on 2nd quarter of 2022, according to the APP).
Thank you for your clarifications!
GOOD LUCK TO ALL!
stay strong and stay safe! 💕💕💕

After submitting all the forms they need to adjust my status (visitor to permanent resident) on Oct 2, 2020, I waited for 1 year and 12 days to finally get my green card. I had the green card interview on Oct 5, 2021. I got my combo (EAD+advance parole) about a couple of weeks before the interview. It’s pretty much useless when I got it cuz they didn’t send me the Social Security Card that I asked for when I filled out the form I-765. After going to the interview on Oct 5, my green card has arrived in the mailbox on Oct 12, 2021.
Interview Questions
She asked me why I changed my name?
Also asked some of the questions from I-485 for eligibility.
Asked for the originals of my name change dox.
She asked my husband about himself of where he was born, his birthday, name etc. (You read it right, she asked my husband about himself, not me.)
And ask to see if we have anymore proof of relationship. I got about 20 more pics since I submitted my case (mostly me, my husband and his family.)
Rental agreement, tax return, plane tickets from the past.
I had 2 big bags of cards we gave each other (she didn’t bother to read them. lol).
Since my husband and I have been married for 4 years, (and we were abroad until Covid hit, that’s the reason I still can’t go home and had to adjust my status) I will automatically get a 10 year green card.
The end.
