Marriage to Green Card holder question.
hey guys-
did anybody go through and can tell how the green card process works through marriage to a green card holder?
what if I’m in a pending asylum and marry a green card holder?
whats is the process like? how long does it take?
if my visa which is expired and has “2 year rule” do I need a waiver?
if anyone went through the same process please share a few words! thank you everyone! #greencard #pending_asylum #marriage #marriagetogreencardholder #process #i130 #i485 #experience

there are couple thing you have to be aware of:
1. did you apply for asylum while you were in status or not. if you were out of status you can’t adjust your immigration status while your spouse a green card holder - she will need to become a citizen.
2. you have a 2 year rule residency - that means you have to go back and do consular processing unless there is a waiver, and if you can get that approve of course.
the best thing talk to a lawyer - your case is not a simple one. there is an immigration questions and answer show on you tube - a lawyer answers questions for free. Hacking Immigration Answer Show

My case is similar, but my hubby is a US citizen, but it’s been 14 months since we filled. I only got EAD after 11 months am still waiting on God.
