Case Approved

Marriage based GC approved
Glory to God! Got my marriage based GC approved on the spot. The lady was very kind and pleasant. Once I realized her generous nature, it helped me ease my tension off a bit and answer with smiles and some laughter. I was nervous like hell (never been so nervous for any occasion in my ENTIRE LIFE, and understandably so).. for this life changing day. Interview went pretty easy- questions asked- how did you guys meet, where was your first date, what attracted you both to each other, asked both of how we interact/ get along with each others' families, do we have a fur baby, how did I spend the last one year at home without a job (since I didn't get the EAD at all, and was out of my previous H1B Visa), what work do I plan to do/ continue once I get the GC. We had a lot of bonafide documents after we got married. She didn't look at any during the interview. She said she will review a little bit after we leave and approve two years GC (since we've been married for less than two years). She also explained the process to file for I-751 and then citizenship. That is when I realized/felt like I am getting approved on the spot. By the time we were leaving, she was cracking jokes and so were we. It almost felt surreal (especially after all crazy thoughts, since I didn't get the EAD at all). Also, when our lawyer said that I am unemployed, since I didn't get the EAD, she seemed surprised and said:"NBC is backed up a lot". That gave me some reassurance that I-485 and I-765 processing may be slightly unrelated and independent of each other (if not completely). I know that people are freaking out due to delays in I-765 (I had gone 100% bonkers crazy).. worrying if that means something is wrong in the application. But it seems otherwise. (Hoping that this feedback helps some people appease their worry). Please feel free to ask any questions. I will be happy to share all I can. May God bless us all, after the patience and worries that we go through for this process. Kansas City field office.
