domestic travel
Is it safe to travel domestically while my I-485 is pending, even though I have already completed my interview? I've seen a lot of viral videos on social media claiming that even people with legal status have been detained. Is it still safe to travel within the U.S.? Has anyone traveled recently without any issues?
Premium processing upgrade, past 3-week deadline with no action — anyone else?
My case was originally filed under regular processing, then USCIS upgraded it to premium processing on July 24 (a few months after the initial filing). It's now going to hit 6 weeks under premium processing this coming Tuesday, well past the standard 15-business-day/3-week premium processing guarantee. USCIS hasn't taken any action yet, and my attorney hasn't received any notice either.
Has anyone else experienced premium processing going past the 3-week window? If so:
- How long did it ultimately take to get a decision?
- Did you get any explanation for the delay?
- Did you contact USCIS or file a service request, and did that help?
Would appreciate hearing from anyone who's been through this.

I485 Approval for me and my spouse 🎊
I applied for EB2-NIW with priority date 02-02-2024 and got approved.
I submitted i765, and i485 concurrent with my spouse in mid October 2025, we had biometric mid November 2025. After biometrics same day 2 FTAO. From November to April 2026 multiple silent updates. Early April 3rd FTAO and minimum of 2 silent update every month from April to June. Mid June chatted with Emma and live agent said the case has been transferred to local field office and interview waived. Mid June two silent updates and Mid July silent update. July 28 silent update and 4th FTAO. 24 hours after H008. Case Approved.
July 30th i765 denied i guess because 485 was approved so no need for the 756
The whole process is self petition, and the same timeline for me and my spouse.
Thanks to everyone on this group for the support all through the waiting time.
Asylum I-485 Interview After 3+ Years
Hi everyone,
I’m looking for advice from anyone who has been through a similar situation.
I applied for my asylum-based I-485 (Adjustment of Status) in April 2023. My case was pending for a long time, and I never filed a Writ of Mandamus or sued USCIS.
A few days ago, I received an interview notice. My interview is scheduled in about a month at the USCIS Lawrence, Massachusetts Field Office.
Has anyone had an asylum-based I-485 interview recently in Lawrence, MA?
What kinds of questions did they ask?
How long did the interview take?
How long did it take to receive a decision after the interview?
Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you!
